It's been awhile since you've posted this story or received a review but I've recently discovered both of your stories. I quite enjoyed both of them and only wish that the continuing adventure had been completed. Are the remaining chapters posted someplace else? It broke my heart to read the 'reviews' that you received from Hennet-Annun but they're not the only fanfiction website out there. I had started reading this at Mystifying Dreams shortly before it went dark and was thrilled to find I could finish reading your work at Stories of Arda. Have you considered fanfiction.net or the Open Scrolls Archive? I think that they would be well-received there, perhaps enough to encourage you to complete The Making of a Man. One can only hope.

It's interesting to see Olihre being so cautious. I guess in a world where danger is all around them, that only makes sense. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, especially when he's responsible for the two girls.

Oh lord. This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Watching someone else's kids is far more troublesome than these three seem to be anticipating.

I already reviewed this chapter, but I forgot to say that I appreciate a writer who knows the meaning of "literally" and can pun on it.

"Olihre groaned. He wasn’t sure that he wanted Gaviwyr anywhere near him with even a spoon, let alone a sharp metal weapon,"--that's very funny! Nice description of the competition. I know how hard it is to write such a scene with enough detail to be convincing. And you use it to show personalities too. Good job.

Nice bit of dialogue between Olihre and Legolas. Snicker! And Gimli as a windshield is also entertaining. I personally love Eomer, so no calling him an oaf!

I love the idea of being able to communicate with horses (and trees too, for that matter). The world just seems much more connected in Tolkien. And I would say that Eomer is going to be in big trouble.

I hadn't read this before. I assume it got lost in the morass at ff.net. I like your dialogue and the way you use it to show characterizations. I stopped to review at this point because I live in a place where blizzards happen and they are no joke! So I was caught up in this. I usually have no patience with grown adults who run away but this was a bad situation.
