An absolutely delightful moment! I am speechless. Well, since this is a review, I best untie my tongue. I loved the moments of Minas Tirith (being a Boromir fan)... they were quite bitter-sweet. I loved the thoughts of Pip. I loved Eowyn's joining him. I loved Pip's concern for Merry.... And I especially like the idea of who might have thought of giving Merry the horn. Blessed, delightful tale with a nice twist in the ending! Author Reply: Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate your comments! I'm so glad you enjoyed this; I'm fond of Boromir too and I wanted to tie him in to the present moment. I thought Eowyn deserved to know something about him from a friend. Thanks again! :)

Love the idea of Pippin enjoying the warmth of the tapestries in comparison to Gondor's white statues - and the origin of Merry's horn. Very symbolic. Author Reply: I see Pippin as a very tactile and visual person, and I think that the warmth and colors of the tapestries would speak to him more than statues that might have seemed cold and grim to him. And as for Merry's horn, well, I have wondered why Eowyn and Eomer gave him that! I'm so glad that you enjoyed reading this, and thank you for telling me so! :)

Aha--inspiration for the parting gift! How wonderful! Author Reply: Thanks, Larner! I've often wondered why Eowyn and Eomer gave Merry a horn - I thought this would be a plausible explanation! :)

What a lovely little gap-filler. I liked the echo of getting tears when hearing the horns. And the bit about distance being relative! Author Reply: Well, I love that line from the book where Tolkien says that Pippin could never again hear a horn blowing in the distance without getting teary-eyed. I just thinks it speaks so much to how affected he was by the battle and how much hope the Rohirrim had given people that day. So I wanted to address that and also why Merry receives a horn from Eowyn and Eomer...something I've wondered about! I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you! :)

Oh what a perfect ending!! The hint of what we know was to come. This is a wonderful story of interwoven lives. Very Well Done! Author Reply: So many lives were woven together because of the Quest, and it was fun to write about two of them who don't see much of each other in the book. I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks, Pearl! :)
