So beautiful, Pippinfan. This is the first time I've read it, and I find I love it deeply. Author Reply: Thank you, Larner--I saw your other lovely review on the MEFA site, again, thank you! I enjoyed writing this tale, so I'm glad you love it. Makes it all worthwile. :-) Pippinfan

This was a beautiful and very plausible story. I love the relationship between Faramir and his cousin - not like their fathers' relationship but very real. How difficult it must have been for Faramir to finally allow himself to let go of his father. Very moving - I'm sure that, like Frodo and Sam, neither Merry nor Pip would survive long without the other. Author Reply: Thank you very much! In my "world" of hobbits, Faramir and Kali's relationship, though they knew each other well and loved one another, was not the same as their fathers'. I can't imagine that Pippin and Merry's relationship was ever duplicated again in Shire history. As for Pip soon following after Merry (or vice versa), then you and I are in good company. There are many who believe this--and I wish I had a reference for you, but I don't. I'll have to get back to my Source of information and get that to you sometime in the future. Thank you for stopping by to read--I appreciate the time you took to let me know what you think of it. :-) Pippinfan

Wonderfully done, PIppinfan!! I am glad that both sons understood at last what drove Merry and Pippin to Gondor at the end. I agree, as well, that Pippin probably died of a broken heart. Author Reply: Thank you, Cher! I think Kali had a good understanding--to some degree, because he and his father were close, yet Merry would never divulge *everything* to his children though he most likely would to Estella. Faramir is the one scratching his head, so to speak. Faramir is ever so slightly a tad self-centered--not to the point of being spoiled or not thinking of others, but as a result has a hard time seeing the "troubling thoughts" his father is experiencing; to him, they're just simply bad dreams. Like Merry, Pippin chose not to speak of his darker memories and dreams to his children, so unless he comes right out and says to Faramir that there is a serious problem, then, to Faramir, everything is fine and the bad dreams will eventually go away. I am glad that you enjoyed Falcon's Watch--and thank you for taking the time to leave a word of encouragment! Thank you. Pippinfan

Oh, I'm so glad to see this over here, too! I hope we'll see some more tales from you of your Faramir and Kali--you have really given both of them lovely personalities, very distinct from their fathers. Author Reply: You are so sweet, Dreamflower!! You already put a spring in my step when it rendered you (and others) speechless over on the Challenges, lol! I had never seen that happen with any of my tales...and so on some deep level, I enjoyed that. I am sorry to say, that at the moment, nothing is jumping out as far as Faramir Took and Kalimas Brandybuck is concerned. I have not tread in their "world" much, though I have a good portion of their personal character traits stored in my head. Oh, the differences in personalities in relation to their fathers were very much on purpose. Life takes some unexpected turns with them. Pippin and Paladin were always close and affectionate and Pippin was used to that, so I decided that Pippin's son would be more opposite of him; quiet, reserved, liking to stay close to home. They love each other very much, yet Pippin is challenged with finding common ground between them, and the same with Faramir as he grows into his teens. With Merry, his relationship with his son is opposite of what he had while a young child, and he loves it. He and Kali are like two peas in a pod, as we read when Merry actually talked to his eldest son about leaving--and Kali encouraged it. I thank you *very much* for *both* of your wonderful reviews and encouraging words! :-) Pippinfan
