Hee, this was funny. I wish there was more. Sweet.

Aww. Poor Aragorn. *pets the weary Ranger*

I'm looking forward to the rest!

Author Reply: Aragorn certain needs the sympathy, Isha. Thank you for your review of "On the Road Out of Bree," and I assure you there will be more to come. (Unfortunately, things don't seem to get better for our poor, abused Ranger... ;) )

very cute story

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it! It really does stand to reason, you know, that there would have to be an adjustment period. All sorts of cross-cultural differences would crop up. And they are more fun to think about...

LOL! Oh my goodness, that is *priceless*, Budgie, just *priceless*! I feel sorry for them all. Poor Aragorn has a lot to get used to. Poor Merry to be so afraid of heights. Poor Pippin, ever cheerful, to be caught in the midst of all of this. Poor Sam-I just know he did *not* enjoy that. Poor ol' Bill, I wouldn't like to be buried either. And poor Frodo. He *is* just a bit overdramatic here, but then anger and frustration has that effect so often, doesn't it? Oh dear me, they have quite the adventure ahead of them. *giggle* More, more! :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I think the adjustment period must have been difficult for Ranger and hobbits. So different, Men and Hobbits. And then Elves and Dwarves. Hopefully, everyone will keep their senses of humor through the trials that are coming... *grins*

*giggling* Oh, that is *so* funny, Budgie! LOL! Pippin's questions, Merry's slightly sceptical interest, Frodo's trying to keep order...and Aragorn's exasperation! LOL! I love your fellowship stories!
God bless,
Galadriel

I really like this story so far. And I can very well see this happening.

Incidentally, why does everybody think Merry is afraid of heights? Is it in the books or letters somewhere? I am just curious. ;)

Author Reply: Hi, EstellaB! As promised in my e-mail, I am 'officially' thanking you for your review and replying to your question. Did my answer satisfy you? I think the line is increasingly blurry between canon and fanon, and for the most part, that is to the good. It makes LotRs more 'accessible,' more human, and more humorous. And gives us so much more to love!

Wow! That was really neat! You did a great job on setting up such a good plot! I can't wait to find out what happens next!!! Don't leave me in suspense to long!!!!

Author Reply: Hi, Alex! Thank you for your kind review. I am waiting for tempers (Aragorn's and the hobbits') to settle before publishing the next chapter, but you should see it soon.

Love this story, Strider is having a bad time of it. Missing ponies, missing wizards, hungry hobbits, and a bad case of mud wrestling.

Author Reply: Hi Grumpy! I suspect you of living up to your screen name!? This is a thoroughly miserable bunch of hobbits and Ranger. Let us hope things get better for our poor lads and Aragorn ... heh heh heh

BodkinReviewed Chapter: 2 on 4/1/2006
They are so competing with each other just at the moment. Especially Merry and Aragorn. Not that he stands much of a chance - because if push comes to shove all the hobbits would support Merry against the tall hairy-chinned creature with inadequate lower appendages.

I just love the line - “Pity Hobbits can’t help the strange places they grow hair in,” he told them straight-faced. I can see Aragorn adding 'one to me' after saying that. Unfortunately Merry gets him back with “If any of those men from Bree did follow us, standing here and arguing about it probably isn’t the best idea.”

This should be a truly interesting journey.

Author Reply: Your comment about Merry and Aragorn in competition tickled me no end, Bodkin. You are SO right. Considering how this series is starting out, it seems a miracle that our two parties are even speaking to each other. I think your choice of the term 'interesting journey' is a deliberate understatment on your part... *grins*

too cute. I like the playfullness tongue and cheek comedy amongst them. Audience only got to see a couple of scenes with Frodo and Aragorn before the attack and one or two before departure to Mordor. I like the filler. You know looking back at the "Behind the scenes" I do believe there was a part cut in after Frodo had recovered and was walking with Sam and met up with the cousins. I think Arwen's scene was cut and she was the one that told Frodo that Bilbo was there. She was wearing a red dress and of course standing on a platform talking down at them.

Author Reply: I love those 'behind the scene' glimpses! Isn't it amazing how one scene, one passage from canon, just one word, even, can spark a whole story? What a pity we have to work and take care of our families and have a life, instead of just writing and being part of the fandom all day...
