Ohhh, how sweet and wonderful this is! I particularly adore these parts:

Bilbo smiled as he looked at his nephew’s sweet, bright face; the red nose; the pink cheeks; the luminous eyes. His heart swelled with love for him and he wondered for the millionth time how he came to be blessed to know such an incredibly beautiful being.

The two had been inseparable since they met three months before and the spirits of them both shined brightest in each other’s company.

They were soon both asleep, heads touching. Identical, soft smiles graced their faces.

The hobbity snowball giggled. "Yes, Frodo, truly!"

Frodo stepped aside. "Well, come on in then and melt away by the fire and become my Merry again. I have missed him so."

Well, I could just quote the whole story back at you. What a joy to read! Frodo is so loved, and gives so much love in return. Thank you for sharing this Yule gift with us.

*beams and hugs you* Aww, thank you, my dear! Thank you so very much! I couldn't have hoped for a sweeter story! All the hobbity love, the "fluff", the beautiful Yule tradition...love love love love love it!!! And your little Merry is soooo adorable! Hmm, I wonder how he got so covered that he looked like a snowball...LOL! Sam and Frodo tucked up in bed together talking and telling tales reminded me so much of sleepovers I used to have with dear friends when I was little, and the little interlude with Frodo and Bilbo was so sweet! I loved it all, and if I pointed out everything, I'd be writing for a very long time! :-) Now I'm off to read your emails and revise and post your Yule gift! Love and God bless,
Galadriel

Oh! I think this is the best of your stories I have yet read! What a lovely sweet Yule! And I can just see Frodo being anxious for Merry's arrival, and the lovely fun they all have after.

I especially liked the way you have characterized Sam's parents: the Gaffer's canon reluctance about his son's "book-learning" and then Bell's proud and fond indulgence.

And your Bilbo is a delight.

Very well done!

That was so sweet! I love it. The interaction between the four hobbits was done perfectly! The only thing I would watch for is repeating some phrases too often. This is now one of my favourite yule fics!

Hullo! I'm not really an expert on LOTR, but I've been reading Queen Galadriel's works and she said that you were a real great writer too. Boy, she was right! I love holiday stories and this was one of the best I've read.
Even though the main character was Frodo, I can see that you didn't want to use a limited voice in your narrative. Instead you got into most of the characters' heads and gave vivid descriptions of their thoughts, and that's challenging, to do that properly. Congrats!
I think with a bit more physical detail--sounds and smells, you know--you could make the ending even more real and effective. What do you say?
I love how Bilbo thinks of Frodo as an angelic lad. And of course, the love between all the hobbits is very apparent and wonderful.
Did Frodo and Merry get any presents? Just curious.
Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind review! I am not much of an expert myself yet though I hope to become one! I wasn't sure how Yule was celebrated among hobbits so I thought I would try this. I hope you will enjoy my other works also, though if you like only fluff, Brother of My Heart is the only other fluffy one. The rest are heavy on angst but also much love.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
