To See Justice Done  by Lindelea 56 Review(s)
storyfishReviewed Chapter: 8 on 3/6/2006
Hooray for Sam! I loved his courage in this story, and his determination that Strider would do what was just. I also admire how deeply you went into his perspective, showing his frustration with not being able find the right words (but in the end, they ended up being the right ones after all).

Oh, do continue this story! I, for one, would enjoy seeing King Elessar thank Sam for talking to him and reminding him to be merciful. (Although I don't know if that was the extra snippet you had planned for the story or not! ;-))

Bring it on dear! :D

Oh, yay! This was a very well described gap-filler. :D And as I really should have said in the previous review: Sam is definitely Full-wise as Gandalf said. I laughed outright when you wrote his humor was back to pre-Party standards, lol! Oh, joy! :D

Oh! Such emotions. I love how you manage to weave humor into such a sober story as this and describe the customs I would never have given a thought if you hadn't described them, but of course the family need a place to recieve the dead.

Oh, that was indeed close for Faramir! I am sure though that it will only do the citizens good to see the King and Steward about helping out in the rebuilding of the City.

This is a really hard case and Sam more and more sees Aragorn's view of justice and mercy here. I think I should ocmment more on this chapter because so much important is said but I'm a bit muddled so I don't have anything to say beyond what I have and that it is a great story and I love it of course! :D

Author Reply: Anso, I don't know if you'll get this (emails being what they are -- who knows if yours is still the same as when you left this review?) but I just wanted to say I appreciate your stopping by and taking time to leave a good word.

I miss your voice! Hope this finds you and yours well.

It is indeed up to Sam and as he knows the rest of the hobbits are taken care of and asleep he don't have to concentrate on their welfare as he would otherwise do instinctively.

hahaha! I just love the way you write Sam in this story. :D I love the way he thinks and expresses himself and gets Strider just where he wants him.

It is hard to comparison the life in the Shire and Gondor but Aragorn is right. A new leader can't throw everything old he doesn't like out without having to face the concequences. But now there is hope! I have always wondered if Beregon was happy in Ithilien though, we don't get to know much about that when reading ROTK. But it is mercy.

This is a great story, Lin! It is indeed up to Sam and I am happy to see that he is the one who for once will be the one to persuade Aragorn and not one of the cousins. It is only fitting too that it should be a hobbit to persuade him to not let Beregond be killed. :)

Sam definitely knows how to see things through and I am glad of his determination. It saved Frodo and I have the hopes that it might be what will save Beregond too. Off to next chapter!

I'ce come to this now and am excited to see what you have come up with. I remember from reading ROTK that I thought that pause was long too and couldn't understand why it was there, except to let the reader understand that it was a difficult decision for Aragorn and that he thought extra long and hard about it.

"LifeWatch" sounds really exciting. I hope you will update it here soon.

Thinking about you! Take care
