Oh...what a sweet but sad story- that is so true though!!! Very VERY well written!!! Meloncholy!! I love it! Author Reply: I admire Frodo so much for hanging on just a little longer for the sake of his friends. I can't imagine ever being in his position--how horrible he feels! He needs to let go to save himself, but he doesn't want to do it because it'll hurt his friends. Thanks for reading and reviewing! I'm so glad you liked it! :)

*sniff* Oh, how sad! I think the saddest is that he thinks he did this to himself. And that last line, "But a wraith cannot last long in the sun," gave me the shivers. Very well written. God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Yes, this story is just a bit depressing, isn't it? I think Frodo's guilt is natural but at the same time very tragic. I think that deep down he realizes that no one would have been able to fight that final temptation, but at the same time feels he should have tried harder. The last line gives me chills too. Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Interesting that you see Frodo as having nearly completed the process begun by the Morgul wound, and that he sees himself melting in the sun. A wonderfully written little angsty thing, this. Author Reply: Yes, Frodo is still drawn to the Ring even though it's gone and he can feel himself fading. He knows that he can't last much longer, but the thought of leaving his friends is something that he can't face at the moment. Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Poor Frodo! This is so very angsty and sad! Author Reply: Yes, it is. But his story is a sad one. He was compelled to undertake such a perilous journey to save Middle Earth and he can't even enjoy it later. I was so disappointed when I first read Lord of the Rings as a naive seventh grader...I wanted Frodo to have a happy ending in the Shire. But I do believe he finds healing over the sea.
