How wonderful! I'm so glad Dreamflower pointed me to this story. This is a delightful scene.

I enjoyed all of these pieces but this last one left me with a smile on my face, tears in my eyes and joy in my heart. How very, very lovely! Thank you for sharing these wonderful little fics with us!

I'm positive I left feedback at one time for this lovely gift! Perhaps on your LJ? At any rate, it's quite amiss of me to have never left it here as well! This was a wonderful conversation, with Gandalf at his most exasperatingly Gandalf-est! Yet, all in all, he got what he wanted. *sigh* Lucky wizard. Wish I could just ask for a hobbit or two...

Yes, Elendil is most definitely "star-struck"--in more ways than one, LOL!

Yes, sometimes the familiarity and affection of family can make it perilously easy to let classified information slip... And Elrohir has no idea yet of how the fate of the Peredhil to love once only will entangle both his little "brother" and his little sister...

This is so sweet and funny! I love Elrohir's concentration--that of the true and dedicated hobbyist! And I like that you show the twins engaging in totally separate activities, worlds apart, and yet in spite of that they remain aware of one another! And Erestor is hilarious. Yes,I daresay the scribes *could* use the exercise. I know one scribe (myself) who is always in need of it! LOL!

The Gandalf story is cute, too. I love that conversation with his boss and the thunder in the distance and the wind in reaction to the words. I like Gandalf's wish. Author Reply: LOL, I never thought of it as a 'conversation with his boss', though it certainly is, isn't it? I'm glad for Gandalf's wish, but I wonder if Manwe knew what he was setting himself up for with letting Hobbits into Valinor, even in the outer fringe. ^_^

These are very cute! I like the ones involving Elrohir the best. They are precious. Then again, so is he both as an elfling and as an adult. Author Reply: Thank you! Oh, I love him ^_^ I've actually claimed his character for this fanfic challenge on LJ- so I have to write 50 fics involving him, with passages from the Tolkien books as prompts. Wish me luck!

A fantastic moment, drawing on the gentleness and the fullness and humor and the compassion of which Gandalf of all wizards was capable. Two he would take with him, with the hope that a third might come after.... Author Reply: Thank you very much, sweets :-) I really want to explore Gandalf's character more, particularly pre-Middle Earth, but he's a rather tricky one ^_^ And I suppose that, with Bilbo and Frodo going, it made sense to let Sam follow after as well. I think Gandalf had only the Baggins' health in mind at this point, though.
