A Night in the Woods  by Acacea 5 Review(s)

Acacea!

Wonderful story. I do so love reading stories of Faramir and Boromir and their relationship and what lies ahead. I thought it was a poignant bit when Boromir takes of everything he would give a wife and his wish for peaceful times because we all know that he would never experience them and it is Faramir that survives to enjoy hearth, home and family. Really enjoyed it!

Author Reply: Hi:)

I'm very glad you enjoyed the story. I do think the brothers have a lovely relationship.

Thank you for reviewing:)

Very nice, Acacea! It was great to see the brothers interact so normally. Poor Boromir! Though I guess he would have been happy to see his brother follow through on that conversation, which he did with Eowyn...

Author Reply: Hi Maya!:)

Glad you liked the interaction. Poor Boromir indeed! It sure wasn't a time for family rearing right then:o

Thanks for reviewing:) I'm really delighted you liked this story.

This was a very nice, very believable vignette! I love the interaction between these two good men, each one's understanding of his brother. You put much depth into just a few words.

Of course, you had me hooked with the Lewis Carroll dream!

Great job!

Blessings,
Mum

Author Reply: Thank you for your lovely words. It means much to me that the entire vignette does indeed work - one of the reasons it too me ages to write, with much humming and hawing:o

:))
You reminded me I need to acknowledge that:o Thanks again:)

This is very sweet, with a nice helping of dramatic irony to spice things up. I like the way that both brothers seem to have at least three motives for staying up and talking, and that they both seem to be aware of this. There's a nice sense of closeness, but not so much as to be soppy.

Author Reply: Thank you. I'm very glad to hear the closeness comes out in much the way I desired it to - without being too cloying:)

Oh indeed they are:) Smart boys both:)

"And some day an Elf will be queen of Gondor," Faramir muttered' - heee! He said it, I didn't!

Lovely vignette about the Brothers Mir. And kind of scary in that Faramir actually saw that glow in the tower as a child - presumably one of Denethor's late night palantir wrestling sessions with Sauron.

Author Reply: He said it, I didn't!

:) Yes indeed he did!

Yes, Faramir did see one of the late night palantir sessions. If only the poor boys knew where that's going to go:o

Thank you for reviewing. I'm really delighted you liked this.
