A terrible loss for so small a child; and a worse loss, in many ways, his father foresees and plans. Poor little Denethor!

Author Reply: Yup - poor little Denethor.

Hi Agape -

I just wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how much I love this story. I've been reading it on another archive, but as SoA is my home, so to speak, I wanted to contact you here. I've printed out "Ten Thousand Years" and am reading it as one would a novel. And let me tell you, I've enjoyed it more than many novels I've read this year. Keep up the good work.

- Steff

Author Reply: Steff, another chapter has been posted for the year 3017 - lots of things continuing to happen as Denethor tries to prepare Gondor for war.

Glad you're enjoying yourself. I just did a full re-edit of the entire book so far - daunting task, but, even though I have beta's - things slip by.

Enjoy! And thanks 10,000 times for the comments!

The poor child--and to see the poor frog squashed like that! Escape only to die of not being seen!

But I can see Ecthelion's concerns growing.

Author Reply: It's funny how real-life events can trigger things. I was enjoying seeing little Denethor growing up - and then, unexplicably, I remembered my own son's brush with the death of a frog. It seemed to fit.

Ecthelion has a heavy burden before him. I do not envy the man.

Thank you for reading!

Poor frog. But such is the case when five-year-olds and small animals encounter one another. I like Ecthelion here. He really seems to know what's up. And you can see the beginning of Denethor's massive overreaction habit, too.

One slight nitpick: I will be up shortly to bed him. That verb does not quite mean what you think it means here.

Author Reply: ROTFL

Ok - French Pony - I've had a lot of people read this and you are the first and only to notice the 'to bed him' phrase! I have changed it - this is NOT a slash site! LOL

Thanks for noticing!
