Author Reply: Trying to find good men to council, men with courage, can be a challenge. I believe Denethor was frustrated his entire life by this problem.
And Amdir - bless his heart - did prove himself well. So Thengel's giving him a second chance, along with Denethor's friendship, did the trick.

|Denethor is growing up oddly. He's very smart, probably too smart for his maturity level. People either dismiss him as a precocious kid or trust a seventeen-year-old lieutenant as a full, experienced warrior. Neither way is especially healthy for him, so thank goodness for Indis.|
He's learning the hard way about battle, but it looks like Amdir has found some courage. Good for Amdir, though his shirt is looking redder all the time.
