Peregrin and Diamond  by Pearl Took 4 Review(s)

Yes, I had Rosie do similarly with Sam's scars, that he might remember her love more than the evil will that inflicted them.

Very beautiful imagery.

Author Reply: Did you? Cool :)

Our lads all needed a lot of healing in their lives.

Thank you, Larner, for the kind compliment :)

Hurrah! They've said they love each other and they're snuggled up together. In the dark, too! They'll have to get married.

Pippin showing weakness - well, he might not think so, but I reckon that was a Very Good Thing. It will make Diamond feel that she has something she can offer to the relationship and make it rather less a case of Perfect Pippin taking an interest in an unimportant lass. (Not well explained, but I hope you see what I mean.) I'm glad he shared his nightmares - and that Diamond took them on herself and kissed him better.

A good bit of progress made here, I think!

Author Reply: Yes, they will just simply have to get married now ;)

Oh yes! I see exactly what you mean :) I think Pippin has always known Diamond has a lot to offer him, a lot she brings to the relationship. But I don't think Diamond knew it. He's the lad she put on a pedistal, one that got even higher and grander after he came back to the Shire all strong and leading the hobbits in clearing their land of Ruffians. But now she knows - he hurts inside just like she does and that he needs her love. *sigh* Yes, she'll be feeling better about herself now :)

Thank you so much, Bodkin, I love your insightful responses :)

"Little Pippin," Sam said and sighed. "She's a wonderful lass, tell her how you feel and marry the girl, then have little ones of your own to tell your tales to."

LOL, well, so far as I can read, they have only one Little One of their own (regarding your wonderful tale!). Will we ever see more??? ;-)

Oh, this chapter was brilliant! Excellent! There was quite a bit that I don't remember from the first edition. Perhaps it was there before, but my swiss-cheese memory *is* full of holes. The scene of the Uruk-hai and Pippin and Merry was quite chilling...and made perfect sense--the hobbits could serve in a variety of sport--as long as they arrived at Orthanc still breathing.

Very sweet and romantic healing scene! I thoroughly enjoyed reading everything. :-)

Author Reply: Thank you :) I think most of this was there before. I did tone down some of the feel of the telling of the dream and Diamond's ministrations as I felt they were too close to being over the top.

Yes, I feel they would have got abused a fair amount any time the band of orcs stopped for a "rest". Poor small lads :(

Thank you so much, Pippinfan, for your loyalty and wonderful reviews :)

I don't know which got to me more, Sam tucking Pippin in or Diamond comforting him and insisting that he tell her about his dreams. This was lovely and very emotional. I could see them there in the moonlight asleep in each others arms.

Author Reply: Thank you, GW! Yes, tender moments either way. I'm glad it is coming out well :) Thank you so much for responding :)
