Strange tales, Or Myths And Misconceptions  by Jay of Lasgalen 15 Review(s)

Elladan and Elrohir aren't exactly clearing up those misconceptions, are they? I think that at some level, they may enjoy having a unique reputation.

More important, if you're doing the 50 passages challenge, that means we can expect to see 49 more little stories. Yay!

Author Reply: Elladan certainly enjoys their reputation, and enjoys teasing his brother as well. Elrohir sometimes wishes they weren't quite so alike - but he would never change anything.

When I read the 50 prompts, this one jumped out at me, and I knew the entire story in a flash. Others may take more work!

Oh this needs expanding upon. You could do a chapter that plays with some of the mentioned tales. I loved this. Those two must have piqued the curiosity of the Men they traveled with. And they certainly must have had a good many legends following them. You did a really great job playing with them here. You can certainly see how they arose.

Author Reply: Please, no more plot bunnies! I've so many ideas for stories I want to write when I have time! After so many years, there must have been some rather wild ideas about the twins.

Yes, we can see just how much each is an individual, can't we? Hehehehe!

Author Reply: But they *are* individuals! They just spend all their time together ... ;)

That was lovely, I like how Elrohir tries proving everyone wrong and ends up doing the opposite.

Author Reply: I don't think Elladan was helping much, either ...

An amusing exchange, and they all end up joking at each other, I'd say. Poor Elrohir, no way that he ever got to convince the young ranger, what, with the enthusiastic support of his brother!

Author Reply: Elrohir should have had the sense to realise this was an argument he'd never win - not with Elladan 'helping' like that!

It must be rather overwhelming or even intimidating for young Hirgon to meet the legendary Peredhil twins for the first time. But I fear they weren't very successful in proving they aren't inseparable, don't read each others minds and don't speak as one *giggle*
That was fun!

Author Reply: There's several centuries of legend surrounding The Twins here, so it's no wonder Hirgon was awed. Poor Elrohir was trying to disprove the myths - but wasn't getting much support from Elladan.

I am sure Elladan and Elrohir grinned at that exchange... done I'm purpose, I'm sure. :D After all, if someone wants to believe such things, the least they can do is resemble the comment!

Author Reply: Well, it was intentional from Elladan's POV, if not Elrohir's! Elrohir doesn't want to always be one of The Twins.

About fifty years ago.... That's more than a lifetime to a young Ranger. It's not going to convince him that the twins are two separate people. And they're doing the twinspeak thing. Both in understanding and enunciating. But they've had centuries to get used to each other. Mind you, they probably enjoy the awe as much as find it irritating.

Author Reply: The time scale was carefully chosen - fifty years is nothing to E2, but an awfully long time to Hirgon.

Elrohir was trying to disprove those strange tales, but he can't help the twinspeak. Elladan was just trying to annoy him ;)

Very cute...
Elrohir tries to explain about him and Elladan being twins but dosen't seem he was to sucessful.

Especially when they speak as one...

Fifty years is a long time to never be apart...

Nice story...

Author Reply: Poor Elrohir was trying to prove himself as an individual, but Elladan wasn't helping.

Fifty years is nothing to an elf - but an unimaginably long time to a youngster like Hirgon!

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha! I love it. That kid just made mincemeat out of Elladan and Elrohir.

Sorry I'm not more coherent. My brain has turned to guacamole.

Author Reply: I think this was mostly Elladan's doing - the youngster just gave him the opportunity!

I like guacamole. And mincemeat.
