Love the last line. Yes Faramir is not healed yet but the King wills it so. Beautiful

Interesting AU here, with Faramir joining Aragorn at Cormallen. I can see this love in him, and the desire to remain afar from Boromir's city. And the desire to heal to please the King. At least his lady will go with him when he comes to Ithilien again. Author Reply: Sorry for the late reply, Larner. I don't know how AU this is - how do we know if Faramir didn't come to Cormallen for a brief visit? The king and his entourage were there for quite some time. Faramir - after being touched by Aragorn - could have healed quite quickly. So I don't quite put it out of the realm of Tolkien's own verse. Who knows. But I do know it will be delightful for him to be in Ithilien with his love and with his king. Unfortunately, though he loved his father, I think Minas Tirith would hold many hard memories. Healings needed for bunches of stuff!

This is very moving and atmospheric. Faramir must have many painful memories of Minas Tirith.Hopefully, with Aragorn and Eowyn's help, he will have happier times in future. Author Reply: Thanks, Linda. I have never understood Faramir - but he comes into my life when things are not going the greatest and comforts me. (like my Letters from Faramir) A friend had been murdered this past week and I was beside myself - I needed some outlet and Faramir kindly offered his services. We wrote this together. I think someday I will love this man!
