A Stroke of Love  by SlightlyTookish 3 Review(s)

“I’ll never let anything bad happen to Pippin ever again.”

Eglantine hugged Merry close and kissed his forehead. “No one can promise that, Merry,” she said quietly. “But I know you will do your best, and I will always trust you with my Pippin.”

It is just as well that she didn't let him promise and her trust in him is lovlely and well deserved. Great snippit Slightly Tookish.

Author Reply: Thank you, harrowcat! Eglantine is sensible enough to know that no one can promise that, but Merry will still try his hardest to see it come true. I'm glad you enjoyed this :)

Such a sweet story! Poor little Pippin...maybe he needs a hug...I'll volunteer!! :) Glad to know he got better quickly. Good thing Merry was right there! Cute little tale; good job!

Author Reply: Yes, Merry's quick thinking definitely saved the day. I've had heat exhaustion too, and I didn't want to put Pippin through too much :D Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed! :)

I was a bit surprised to see Merry hiding up a tree, but the story was good and well researched.

Author Reply: Well, he had to hide in a place where Pippin would never look! I like to think that he was getting nervous and squirmy as he waited, and that's why Pippin noticed him moving around! :)
Thanks for reading!
