I love this one! I think it is so practical and so very like the folks of Buckland. I enjoyed it when I fist read it and I'm glad you've posted it here. It's an excellent look at how those odd Bucklanders began their reputation for interesting behavior. Author Reply: I'm glad that you love it! I think that it would be fun to write some more drabblings about how some of the other major families developed their idiosyncrasies, though they certainly wouldn't be so outlandish as those Bucklanders! Thanks for commenting here!

Oh, I remember this! It was just as touching today as is was then. A beautiful little piece about *why* the Bucklanders came to be swimmers. As always, very well written, and an absolute delight to read. :-) Author Reply: Thank you so much T! I had completely forgotten this one and ran across it quite unexpectedly. I figured that there had to be a pivotal point at which the Bucklanders took the plunge so to speak, lol! Thanks again!

Lovely images! A new way of looking at the foursome, and they fit nicely into their categories. I'm out of reading time for today, but was glad to find three short pieces that I could fit in. for air cannot be held in place by anything – not even love Gorgeous! Author Reply: Glad you liked these Lin! These particular drabbles are ones that I am especially proud to have written. Thanks for reading and commenting!

A lovely ending, and though I don't often appreciate movie-verse as opposed to book-verse, you've done this well indeed. Author Reply: Thanks Lin! I usually prefer book-verse too but I wrote this as a companion to a film-verse story by Llinos that I absolutely love, More Than Just Years. I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Ah, yes. It will make the Brandybucks even more of a byword in the Shire (as folk who are decidedly "odd"), but saving lives is worth it. Nice to see this! *hug* Author Reply: Thanks so much Lin! Glad that you enjoyed it!

Good hobbitsense! A shame it didn't save Frodo's parents, but I'm sure it saved a good many Bucklanders. So much in so little always amazes me; well done, MG! :-) Author Reply: Thanks Pearl!

I particularly like the last touch of Gandalf's voice upon the breeze. Lovely, MG! Author Reply: Thanks very much Pearl!

Yes! So this is how it started, is it! And it's been TOO long between drabbles, Marigold! Author Reply: I reasoned that it had to start *somewhere*, lol! This is actually one that I wrote months ago for one of the Challenges and forgot about. I wish I had some time for writing some new ones! Thank you so much Larner!

I was so glad to read this one because I did think that Pippin deserved his own special goodbye in the films and didn't really get it. This completes things a bit. Thank you! Author Reply: Thanks so much, and sorry to be so long in saying so! I feel the same way - after all that he and Gandalf went through together Pippin deserved a better farewell. I wanted to see that completion as well!

(Pippin bubbles as water does.) That is such a perfect description of Pip. These are all wonderful but that one is, naturally, my favorite. Author Reply: Thank you GW! For some reason Merry's is my favourite in this set but Pippin's is a very close second!
