| I will have to repeat the same thing- the Gift of the Magi. I liked that story the moment I read it when I was a kid. Your version is a better version, though.....But, that's just me. | I like the ironic turn at the end here in what I assume is a ME version of "The Gift of the Magi." The only thing that made me flinch is that now they're weaponless! They'd better hurry home. Author Reply: Hi, daw. Yes, it is most definitely an ME version of "The Gift of the Magi". I've always loved that story. It wasn't easy fitting it into LOTR, but I did my best, because it demonstrates friendship so well. Our elf and ranger had better hurry for sure, since all they have now is their knives.
