Wonderful story, I enjoyed reading it. So Galadriel had her reasons for dressing up Aragorn and playing matchmaker. I always loved it that she did that. Glad that Celeborn got over it.

She had found the young man very droll (though she had seemed flattered by his attentions). She was not laughing at him now. He gave her his heart the day he first looked upon her. Though he despairs of ever winning her affection, he will never, can never, love another woman. The future of the House of Elendil hangs on her choice. What a fascinating story. I never thought about this event from Celeborn's POV, or what motives Galadriel might have had.

Hello Wordweaver, This was an excellent tale, both in style and content. You have shown two powerful people, both of whom are strong characters, engaging in a moment of conflict, and you have resolved that conflict without making either of them weak. Galadriel did seem at first to be rather guileful, and I could understand Celeborn's fear that Nenya was influencing her. Her reasons for doing what she did might not be wholly legitimate, but, as always, "all things work together for good…" even in Arda. Thank you for a wonderful story. Blessings, Alassiel Author Reply: Thanks for your encouraging review. I agree that Galadriel did seem somewhat guileful, but I thought she approached Celeborn that way because she felt he was over reacting. She probably has a point, in that dressing Aragorn couldn't be enough, by itself, to make Arwen fall in love with him. She doesn't want to go into all her reasons for doing it because she's trying to down play its importance. Once she realizes Celeborn won't be put off, she is forced to answer the really hard question: Why? I'm really glad you felt that Galadriel and Celeborn were able to resolve their conflict without either one looking weak. That was one of my biggest concerns in writing the story. Without forgiveness, how can love survive? Blessings, Wordweaver
