Now that last sentence promises another adventure! How very scary and exciting. You've created a truly interesting beast here. I like that we don't know what it is or how it got there. I am glad that we at least know it can't leave the meadow.

Author Reply: Marigold and I are working on that next adventure but it will not turn up until after the holidays. So glad you are enjoying the meadow and the mystery creature. Have a happy holiday and thank you for reviewing this!

Scary. Very, very scary. I wonder what it is that haunts the meadow at night. Nothing you'd want to meet face to face, that's for sure.

They were mad to go back - even if Pippin was certain that the evil was only there at night. (I wonder how he knew?) Still - I suppose the event was some kind of preparation for the horrors they would meet on their travels. If you want to look at it like that.

Author Reply: I don't think I would have gone back but Tolkien does say that the Hobbits get over things quickly so maybe they recovered a bit too well from their night time visit and as the fear faded the lure of the meadow grew stronger.

There will be more after the holidays and I hope there will be an answer or two in there. Thank you for reviewing!

I am loving your story, you have such a marvellous way of portraying the Hobbits.

Looking forward with eager anticipation to the next chapter!

Author Reply: Thank you! I am glad that you liked it. I hope to have more up after the holidays. Thank you for the lovely review.

Oh my! That was creepy!
Like Larner, I would very much like to know what that creature was. I would imagine something Balrog-like. But somehow I have the feeling that you aren't going to tell us more ;-) Am I right?

I also enjoyed the little remarks Merry put in, for example:

Pippin was reading each of the characters in the story with a different voice. All of them still sounded like Tooks but they all sounded like different Tooks.

What fun! I would have liked to listen to that performance!

Author Reply: There is more, but as to if it will answer all of your questions, well, I better not say just yet. Glad you enjoyed Merry's remarks in this one. I had fun including a bit of information here and there amid the creepy parts. Marigold and I worked on this for a while to get it to this point so I hope you will enjoy what comes later. Thanks for the lovely review!

*brrrrrrrrrr....* Was the 'thing playing with them and not using it's full strength, just like Merry with Pippin? Intriguing last line!

Author Reply: This one was a bit on the creepy side. We, Marigold and I, played with it a bit so that it become more creepy. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! We had fun writing this one.

I was already curious, and now you really have my curiosity roused. Gollum? An outdoors Balrog of some sort? Hmmmm. You truly have me wanting to know as much as Merry DOESN'T want to know.

Author Reply: Seems you and Merry had the opposite reaction to this. There is more but I don't know entirely how much more as of yet. At least one more entry in the journal will deal with Merry's creature. Thank you for reading and reviewing!
