The Letter  by Frodo Baggins 5 Review(s)
Elanor SilmariënReviewed Chapter: 1 on 8/24/2006
Poor Sam! *tear* Poor Frodo! Please do continue this! I want to hear more letters to Frodo's friends and family!
God bless,
Ellie

Author Reply: Hannon le! I know, poor both of them. So many people think how hard it would be for Sam to be left, and they naturally assume that Frodo would be excited about going into the West. THey don't consider that he was leaving all that was dear and familiar to him. Sorry, I speak from experience, and the pain is still pretty fresh. Namarie!
God Bless,
Im mil le,
Frodo Baggins

To my Sam...

I sail into Hope now. My prayer is that my final and greatest sacrifice will be worth it; that Iluvatar will be able to heal my broken heart.

Oh, my dear Frodo! Both of you! This just breaks the heart to read. Lovely, lovely writing and I would think how it really was.

Of course, you have to continue with Merry and Pippin...and maybe even Aragorn, Arwen to thank her, or Elanor? Frodo-lad? That he went on the Quest for them and loves them. He saw so many others coming after him.

Namarie, God bless, Im mil le, Antane :)

Author Reply: Oh Antane! Hannon le for the sweet review. That was written from personal experiences and emotions. It just didn't seem right that Frodo would leave without explaining why. And thank you for the suggestions of other letters. So far I have Merry, Pippin, Esme and Saradoc, Arwen, Aragorn, Elanor and Frodo-lad. My goodness! I guess I'm really going to be busy for a while. :) Hannon le! Namarie!
God Bless,
Im mil le,
Frodo Baggins

Awww, thank you for ending this with a smile. :D

Author Reply: You're welcome!! I've got to learn to say that in Sindarin... :)

Oh, poor Frodo and poor Sam! I can empathize with both of them now. It's hard to leave everyone one loves, even for a little while, and it's infinitely hard to go into that room where that special departed beloved one used to sleep/live, and relive all those memories. But it's part of the healing process. I'm so glad Frodo left that letter, and I hope he left letters for his cousins too, and maybe Esme and Sara? :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: *hugs you* I know how Frodo feels, and Sam as well, but more so Frodo. It's even harder to leave them and not know if you indeed will ever see them again. And the pain often lasts for years after the leaving. Everytime I talk about moving, I get teary eyed and my heart breaks all over again. It will take time to heal, but it will happen. Hmm...Sara and Esme seperately or together? Namarie! Im mil le!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins

There will always be some grief in his heart, but as time passes more and more joy and being grateful for all he has because Frodo wished it for him.

Author Reply: Of course there will always be grief. And I believe that there will always be grief for Frodo, as well. Hannon le for the review! And I think Sam would be the one to appreciate joy the most-because he saw first hand what was sacrificed for him and Middle Earth. Namarie!
God Bless,
Frodo Baggins
