The strength of Thranduil is truly amazing. I thought my heart would break in parts of that chapter. And the early chapter when Lindoriel made him promise to stay and not follow her! *weep*

I definitely couldn't get enough of this story. Wonderful characters development.

I can't figure out how to respond to your response, so I'll leave one here. I am thrilled to learn that you are working on the next chapter! I hope your muse will stick with you now. I can't wait to see how Thranduil handles the council in Imladris. He will want to stick up for his people, which hopefully will force him somewhat out of his pit of grief. I also look forward to seeing him let Legolas back in. He at least already realizes that he has not been considering how Legolas must feel (not that anyone blames him much), but obviously they got interrupted by his trip to Imladris, so I look forward to seeing them together again.

I came back to re-read this chapter because, despite how full of pain it is, there is also so much love amidst everything that I get the warm fuzzies from it.

If there were a new chapter, though, I wouldn't have to re-read. *coughs gently*

I have nothing to say. You've said it all. Great chapter, as always. Potent with grief. I am glad to see Thranduil coming to his senses. Poor Legolas.

Simply marvelous I love your characterization of Thranduil and his arrival for the conference will definitely be storm. Waiting in anticipation for the next chapter:D

Author Reply: Thanks! Sorry for the delay, but real life has been unusually demanding.

I'm glad to see that you are still working on this. It is quite the epic story!

Author Reply: Thanks! For a while I was wondering if I hadn't bitten off a bit too much with this story. Pressing on . . .

This is poignant. Your realistic description of Thranduil's emotions surely hints at personal knowledge. So sad for the elves that they have all eternity to live with their loss. I love your description of the men, such a sturdy race but such short, painful lives. Yet, the Woodmen must endure only a short time before they are reunited with their loved ones. I think the men have the better gift.

Author Reply: Sometimes I think so, too. I tried to describe everything I was feeling when our newborn son died in the hospital, so I'm glad it seemed to ring true. Thanks for reading and leaving lovely reviews!
