What a lovely wedding!

Author Reply: Again, thanks so very much! I love writing weddings, I find!

Those gifts are all so beautiful and perfect - and gifts from the King and the Steward too! What a lovely wedding. I'm so pleased that Alvric asked Barti to stand with him.

Now if only Barti could get over his loathing of Frodo..........

Author Reply: I'm so glad you appreciated them. I'd think that this tangible proof that her husband is so honored by those who sent him to Bree would help Denra realize just how big the world is as well as the importance the King places on her new husband's errand!

And I agree about Barti and Frodo! Heh!

Sweet! Love the description of the wedding gifts!

Author Reply: Thank you so, Lume! Love to see characters I've come to love getting some of my favorite things from the days my late husband and I had an antique store. Lithopane pottery and figured lace, and silver trays....

Finally got time to read and savour this chapter Larner.

Love your different takes on polystyrene packing materials *g* And the velvets will be useful too.
I am glad that the dog and cat are getting on so well. Trust them both to find a good spot to watch from.
The pottery sounds beautiful - hope that cat is careful though! You can keep the punch set though I want a piece of the volcano glass!!!!

Ah! More OCs to grow to know and love; our wonderful Ranger's wives.
Barti continues to be touched and changed by the people and events around him. I am glad that Alvric asked him to stand for him.

The wedding ceremony was lovely. Methinks foresight came into play over the wedding gifts!

*big satisfied sigh* as I come to the end and glad the Muse is moving this on.

Author Reply: If I am ever able to come to England again I shall bring you some Mount St. Helens glass, if that would be acceptable.

When my father died and Mom had to return Stateside from Costa Rica they packed her dishes in great pasteboard barrels, with straw as the packing.

The reeds and rushes from the swamps and ponds on our property had a thick, spongy pith, which would do well, I'd think, as packing. I used to wind it into helmets for when we pretended to be knights in armor, and we had alder shoots trimmed of branches as spears.

Now that Sauron is cast down, I'd think that the Rangers would finally begin showing those in the Breelands and similar settlements that they, too, are family men; and of course they'd wish to share a wedding with their wives!

Glad you enjoyed the ceremony. Thanks so!

Awww! So lovely! Nice wedding gifts - Delphie certainly knows how to do things properly.

And Master Alvric seems to know how to deal with dear Bartolo - just a little kindness, a little well-deserved attention, and he's uncurling and not bristling his spikes anymore.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this story?

Author Reply: Oh, yes, Delphie definitely has taste. And both she and Alvric have learned how to deal with Barti by now. It's helped him release some of his resentment--at least for the moment.

And I'm so glad you do! Now, to finish with the editing of that last chapter....

Oh wow, this set of cups and bowl Delphie sent to Denra and Alvric sounds truly beautiful. Don't know why no one did want to buy it for so long! I could nearly be a bit envious :)
The other gifts from Gondor are great, too, and it must be quite awesome particularly for Denra and Carnation to realise just *who* did send these!

The exchange about Gondorian cloaks made me smile. Between Delphie and Barti poor Alvric has to be careful in talking about these things, hasn't he? But he managed admirably. And he even slipped in that only the highest ranking lords of the Realm are allowed to wear circlets! At the moment I can't remember if the Bracegirdles know about Frodo's and Sam's circlets already and don't have time to search for it, but even if they don't know yet, they may learn it later. Poor Barti *evil grin*
And Persi is now in a position to learn even more.

Oh, Alvric asked Barti to stand up for him? Well, that's a surprise! It even seems to have softened Barti a bit. He was unusually nice at the end, when they looked at the table shawl.

Anyway, I loved the wedding. It was such a wonderful ceremony, and it was just perfect that Lord Halladan married them. Absolutely lovely, Larner! Thank you! *happy sigh*

Author Reply: We had some lithopane porcelains from Germany and Japan when we had our antique shop, and I've been wondering how to work such items into Middle Earth, and this proved to be the perfect place for it.

I now have a votive candle holder that is lithopane porcelain, with an image of a cherub that shows when the candle is lit. I love it!

And I'm certain you're right about Denra and Carnation feeling overwhelmed about the authors of such gifts as the tray and bowls. This is a bit much, to realize these far-off lords think so highly of Alvric to wish to send him wedding gifts!

As I advised Dreamflower recently, Alvric did find himself a bit in the middle between Delphie and Barti, and found himself having to tread a bit lightly. No one within the Shire knows about the Circlets as yet, but that may come, and it would be wonderful for Barti to become aware of them, I think. You are delightfully evil, you know! Heh!

Am so glad you loved the wedding. Thank you for such a lengthy commentary! I so appreciate it.
