This has been here for a few months now. I just read "A Moment of Weakness" and decided to check out some of your others which I have missed. This is such a sweet picture! I have always seen these two as wounded souls who healed each other, or as opposites who attracted and completed each other. The description of the lightening storm wonderfully mirrored the storm in Faramir's soul. I believe that simply because he is aware that the way his father compared he and his brother was not good, he will make a conscious effort to be different. I would like to see Faramir as the father of a little girl! I doubt he would be so eager to teach her things like shooting or sword play like he would a son. But I am very certain he would teach her languages, literature, history, and how to think for herself! (The mommy could teach her how to ride and fight, after all!) I am sure that any of their children would turn out to be remarkable. And the ending, with the storm raging outside, and the two of them cuddled peacefully inside, is so lovely and warm.

I'm not surprised Eowyn manages to be angry at the father-in-law she never met. How could he not appreciate this son of his? And Faramir will make a terrific father to all his children - he will treat them all as individuals and respect them. Possibly be too considerate ... I think Eowyn might have to be the layer-down of the law. I love the picture of Faramir with his hand looped round his wife and child.

How lovely. These two really do bring out the best in one another. Their children will be so loved and wanted. Author Reply: They do work together wonderfully, don't they? And I could definitely see them working hard to ensure that their children don't grow up with the same heartaches that they did.

Sweet and sensitively told vignette. Eowyn makes a good point about Faramir's bringing out the best in her, he seems to have a knack for that...It does stand to reason that Faramir would be concerned about his feelings for his unborn second child, there was so much heartache caused by Denethor's obvious favoritism. Author Reply: I think she brings out the best in him as well (though it's hard to improve on one who already started out with such quality, as Sam would put it!) But I do see him as wanting to avoid treating his second child like he was treated. I may have to go back at some point and explore that some more, after the child would be born... we'll see where the plot bunnies lead.
