Thank you for a delightful look into Legolas post-release. For all that we can see the after-effects of his imprisonment, I felt really uplifted by this story. I have always thought that Legolas was not an "ordinary" elf (even given that most of the main characers in LOTR reveal themselves to be extraordinary representatives of their race/group in many ways), and Dark Leaf gives a reason behind that "otherness". Thank you again for the story, and for Dark Leaf itself. Cheers!

I just had to let you know how much I enjoyed this story. The writing itself is great, but the interaction between Legolas and Celeborn was just wonderful. This was a lovely episode within your other stories. Legolas is endearing in his struggle. However, I am one big fan of Celeborn and most writers simply cannot do him justice. You always have and have continued to show him in a deserving, impressive light. The winter celebrations were grand and that part of the story very entertaining as well. All the symbols you included in the ceremonies augmented that part very nicely! Really love that sort of thing. ;) So happy to see you posting at SOA again! And looking forward to more :D

I'm sorry I'm so late with this -- school is breathing down my neck at an astonishing rate. I loved reading this story. I loved all the symbolism of light and dark, male and female, beginning and ending in the ceremony at the end. I definitely need to go back and read that part again, for I'm sure that there are more fantastic details that escaped me on the first reading. Not all Elves are nice, which is to be expected. They're people -- flighty, thoughtless, just like humans can be. And then there are people like Celeborn, the Godfather, with a heart as big as all outdoors. I love him so.

I was so glad to see this new addition to the Dark Leaf saga. And Legolas is improving with the help of others - though there is sadness of all he has gone through and lost to those years as captive. I am glad that Saeros and Tuilinal are there as they were when they were watching after Legolas when he was prisoner. The solstice ritual was beautiful and very magick even among the elves. Legolas' realization that he can't go home until he is whole again with the help of others is the best present in the end.

What a terrific story! I am so glad that you posted this to let us know how Legolas is doing now that he has at last been freed. Thank you. You draw such an understandable picture of a young person recovering from trauma - it made me reach out for my hankie, you did it so well! Totally, totally credible, and wonderful writing! I look forward to your next episode - will that be at SoA?

Poor child. He's lucky he has these patient loving elves to coax him back to happiness, but the way seems long and painful. And mean people need a kick in the butt. Lovely ritual. I particularly like Legolas's observation that Celeborn looked like a big snowflake.

Oh, huge applause. That is just brilliant and beautiful and I loved it. Wonderful stuff. I haven't time to write any more now - but that was just so good.
