Growing Pains  by Elemmírë 5 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 1 on 10/28/2006
Aww, Gandalf as the healer! :) Poor Frodo, I know what that's like! I had them when I was about his age (that is, around the time of twelve and thirteen). Gandalf's cure is very interesting, and it's sweet that he could make them stop not just for that night, but for long after. And as always I love your Bilbo!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you Queen Galadriel!

I too used to experience such cramps, but more so when I was a toddler. Frodo's very lucky that he was healed of them forever.

I just love writing Bilbo, most especially when he's able to care for Frodo in some manner.

Thank you for reading, as always, and thank you for such a wonderful review. I'm really glad you enjoyed the story.

Ooh they sound so painful. Not something I ever remember having thank goodness but even the occasional cramp I have had in a calf muscle was agonising. Well done Gandalf!

Author Reply: Thanks Harrowcat! Leg cramps of this type are quite agonizing ... I one had one that was so bad that I could barely walk the next day. I didn't have Gandalf, but I had my mother :)

Gandalf could not but help his young friend and unleash the power he was entrusted with.

Oh, the poor dear! I have had leg cramps too at times, brought on sometimes if I stretch too much and they are painful! But fortunately not long lasting most of them. A great, loving story. Glad he's better and they never came back.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, leg cramps can be quite painful. I don't get them too much myself anymore, but when I was very little I got them all the time and they would last for hours some nights. My mother was wonderful though and it was her ministrations that served as the inspiration for this tale.

Thank you for reading/reviewing, Antane! I'm happy you liked it!

Well, that was just lovely and soothing and comforting. Just like a big hug when you really need one.

Author Reply: Why thank you, SurgicalSteel for such a warm, cozy review. I'm very glad you enjoyed!

What a sweet tale! I can never get enough gentle Frodo-tending, especially when the Wise see what a very special hobbit he is. And this just made me smile...

Since coming to live with him at Bag End, his nephew was becoming more and more inclined to share his laughter and joy with those around him; the lad’s melancholy demeanor slowly being replaced with his shining spirit.

Author Reply: Thanks, Shirebound!

I know exactly what you mean ... I can't get enough of those things either, which is why I suppose I felt compelled to write this. Frodo is a very special hobbit indeed and deserves all the gentle caring and love he can get.

I'm glad you're smiling :D
