Heehee. Good one Pip indeed. Going and scaring his friend into falling off a tree. I don't think I've read very many of your stories before, so I don't know your added hobbit characters. What is little Jed's relation to Pippin? And was this story inspired in anyway by a certain creature that lives in the Fire Swamp and is commonly referred to as R.O.U.S.s? ;) (If I'm talking gibberish, I strongly encourage you to watch The Princess Bride) Author Reply: Thanks for reading, good_one_pip! I appreciate your feedback :) Tiberic Tunnelly, the healer, appears in another story I wrote, "A Stroke of Love," which is posted here at Stories of Arda. It's a Pippin-healing story. Jed and the other Tunnellys here actually belong to Dana. We've been having fun thinking up this Tunnelly family, and there are some more (Tib's wife and children) who will appear in future stories. Jed and Pippin are related, however distantly, since Jed has some Took blood in him :) And sadly, the rats in his story were not at all inspired by R.O.U.S.'s. Marigold assigned me "nasty rats" as one of my starters for this Challenge, so I was forced to write about them! Lucky for Pippin and Jed they didn't come across any lightning sand either! ;)

Ooooh! Poor Jed. Spiders? I'll evict them out of any room you like. Maggots? Grab the hoover! Mice? Here mousie, mousie come and get the chees! But rats! eeek I'm out of here! Author Reply: You're better than I am! I run away screaming at all of those things. But one of the elements Marigold assigned to me was - you guessed it - rats, so I was forced to write about them, shuddering all the while. Thank you for reading! :)

Oh dear! Pippin would never have expected that his story was that "successful" ;-) A rat in a tree? Jed must have been beside himself! What I liked most about this story was that Pippin tried do do everything possible to help Jed and to correct his mistake. He even admitted that his story did cause all the trouble. That's our Pippin! Sometimes a little too enthusiastic, but always honest! Thank you! Author Reply: I think Pippn surprised even himself! Squirrels are part of the rodent family and I'm sure that if Jed had rats on his mind it would have been easy to make such a mistake. I'm so glad you appreciated that Pippin admitted his part in Jed's accident. Pippin is honest and knows how to take responsibility for his actions. Thanks for reading, Andrea! I'm so glad you enjoyed :)
