This would seem to be a pretty low moment, wouldn't it? Because you're right: only three of them are left. And yet, they pick themselves up and set off. That's quite amazing when you think of it.

So very true, Faith. So very true. Movie-verse Legolas had such an amazing range of expressions cross his face when dealing with death and the ones he cared for... I can fully see him thinking that they were "all elves" like himself, and to be confronted time and again with the mortality of the fellowship must have truly worked great angst in his heart and mind. All 3 wonderfully written, my dear. Keep up the good work! :)

::fighting tears::: W.O.W. Again, you nailed it. I was moved by the repetition of 'baby sister'... that drives such an amazing image and emotional power through the reader; it really makes you stop and think of them as siblings and "little children". Poor Eomer!

LOL! Loved it! I think you interpreted those looks perfectly! ::giggles:: Of course you know that now I'm going to have to spend my entire 4 day weekend watching all 3 movies, right? ::walks off laughing wildly:: :D

btw--if you added another chapter, you need to set it to publish. I see this is back at the top but we can only read the two chapters you posted originally. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Poor Eomer - what a terrible moment of realisation for him. It was quite some time before he reached the Houses of Healing and learned that Eowyn wasn't dead. Author Reply: I simply cannot even imagine the suffering that Eomer must have been in...

I love this scene - there seem to be so many weapons to be removed! It doesn't surprise me at all that Legolas kept one or two tucked away though. I also liked Gandalf doing his 'helpless old man' act, and leaning on Legolas's arm as they crossed the hall :>) Author Reply: Always have to laugh at Legolas' expression as he offers his arm as well ;-)

I can definitely see this scene as you have rewritten it . Leggy DID look quite perturbed at the thought of being completely disarmed. ^_^ & Shann, as for the small knives in his sleeves, they would be tucked under his leather gauntlets (isn't that what they are called ?) & the idea of a blade tucked against his back is, well... you know. I think that his leather jerkin would disguise it's prescence. (okay, I can't spell... but you get the idea. uhmmm, maybe I have thought it through too much...) Author Reply: lol! Yea I think you have thought about it too much ;-) But yes exactly... gauntlets and jerkin would have ensured that the knives wouldn't be easily seen :-D

What a wrenching moment for Eomer. All his family lies there. Author Reply: I cry every single time I get to that point... Without failure the tears start to roll... It is such an incredible heartbreaking emotional scene I just had to pour a little more angst on it ;-)
