The Young Knights  by Soledad 2 Review(s)
UnicornReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/18/2006
Thank you Soledad for a spendid Christmas gift or, I hope, rather 24 different ones :-)).
How nice to meet Boromir and Faramir in their youth and what a good start to make Faramir and Morween "introduce" the arriving parties in this informative way. And as always we can enjoy your knowledge, this time regarding the heraldic symbols.

I should think Faramir is really relishing the chance of spending a year in Dol Amroth, slightly detached from the hotbed of Minas Tirith. I liked finding that he has additional family - which, of course, he would. Gondor must be littered with cousins in some degree. With a relatively small Numenorean gene pool, there must have been a lot of inter-breeding.

I like Morwen - although I would have thought she was a first cousin once removed rather than a niece - and her competitiveness with Faramir over the shield game is most entertaining as well as a great way to introduce some of the cast and background to the story!

I am looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Author Reply: Thanks. :))
To the mistaken degree of their relation see the A/N before Chapter 2. I might bring in various other relatives later - not sure yet, as the story is pretty much changing as I write every new chapter.
