Making Spirits Bright  by SlightlyTookish 10 Review(s)

Between them, Pippin and Gandalf did a good job of raising spirits here! Much needed, I should think, and very welcome.

Author Reply: I thought it would be lovely if the Fellowship could celebrate together, no matter how small that celebration was. I'm so glad you enjoyed! Thank you :)

Oh - and what useful prize was in each cracker? Personalized for each member of the Fellowship, of course! But then, maybe, Legolas and Gimli get their crackers mixed up!

Author Reply: For now I'm leaving it up to the reader to determine the prize! *grin* But as I said, maybe the gifts will make another appearance...And yes, I am certain that they were personalized for each member of the Fellowship :)

I know how Pippin feels being woken after too little sleep by a too loud noise - but mine was just the alarm clock!

What lovely gifts from the pair of them. Now, what else can you do with a green bag tied with red ribbons I wonder? And how many of them survived to the end of the quest! *whistles innocently while evicting plot bunnies from under the bed!*

Author Reply: Uh oh, are you trying to unload those plot bunnies on me? *grin*
Thanks for reading, harrowcat. I'm glad you enjoyed! And who knows, maybe the Yule gifts will make a reapparance someday...*adds to the growing pile of plot bunnies*

Wonderful! Between the two of them, Pippin and Gandalf have managed to bring joy to all of them.

And love the reprise of one of my favorite of Frodo's lines in FOTR the Movie--"Keep your secrets." Much a part of all our images of Frodo now, I think.

Author Reply: Thanks, Larner! I love writing about Pippin and Gandalf, I think they have such a special relationship, very much akin to a grandson and grandfather to me. Funny how while even writing book-verse the movies have a way of slipping in! I like that Frodo line as well :)

How very sweet ... and magical!

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Elemmírë! :D

So sweet. A nice Yule away from home for all of them curtesy of Pippin and of course Gandalf ;)

Author Reply: Thanks very much. I'm so happy you enjoyed it! :)

Lovely story!
How clever of Gandalf to provide "silent" Yule crackers. And how thoughtful of Pippin to make a gift for Bill the pony as well.

Pippin still has his doubts if he will be of any help on the quest, but in fact he is already helping.

Thank you :)

Author Reply: Thanks, Andrea! Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to show: Pippin, still unsure with his place in the Fellowship, and trying very hard to prove his worth. I figured that, if anyone, Gandalf would be able to make silent Yule crackers!! :D

LindeleaReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/20/2006
This was delightful!

(and MEWD is Pearl's highest praise, and well deserved, but I'll let her explain it! *g*)

Author Reply: Thanks, Lindelea! I'm so glad you thought so! (And I desperately wish someone will tell me what MEWD means!)

A wonderful and warm story, ST! It brought a smile and a contented sigh. MEWD!

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad it made you smile. What does MEWD mean?

A lovely Yule story. May we all find a little magic in the season and share it with friends, loved ones, and the stranger in our midst.

Author Reply: Thanks very much, Fiondil. I'm very glad you enjoyed reading this. Have a wonderful holiday! :)
