Bits & Pieces  by Edoraslass 4 Review(s)

Well, Edoraslass, I was enjoying these so much that I ran out of chapters... LOL!

I only intended to leave one review, at the end, but so many of these touched me or tickled me in some way, that I was compelled to comment.

I really enjoy how your drabbles and ficlets speak with so many voices, so many POVs, including both usual and unusual ones.

And I also like how you experiment with many different word forms... I don't know anything about the forms themselves (well, except drabbles ;-D), but I appreciate the different choices... each a different length, a different rhythm, a different feeling.

And you have a feel for the language, too.

Very nice work!

Author Reply: Thank you for leaving so many reviews! I do try to make an effort to get as many different characters as I can involved, but as you can see, the Elves are sadly neglected.

Honestly, I rarely consciously pick a form; I start writing, and there it is. It's a very strange feeling. :)

Thanks again!

Old Man Willow! Another cool POV! I like!

Author Reply: Old Man Willow's weirdly fascinating to me - there doesn't seem to be anything else like him in M-e.

Thanks!

I haven't got the strength of mind to write fifty reviews - but I love these. The image of Faramir and Eomer sliding along the polished floors of Minas Tirith will live with me ... As will Imrahil's traditional words of welcome to his grandson - and Boromir's concern about the dilatory growth of facial hair ... I liked Theoden's feeling of guilt and that he had failed his son - great perspective and so likely. And Denethor's love for Finduilas and grief at her death.

And that's just a few.

Author Reply: Heh, I'm kind of surprised I had the strength of mind to write all of these, and so many of them actual drabbles, too! Those are the very hardest for me.

I'm glad you enjoyed them; I try to write as many characters as I can, but as is abundantly clear, my brain always wanders back to Rohan.

Thank you for taking the time to read them! Next time I won't upload so much at once!

Oh, how very right for Old Man Willow! Just perfect.

Author Reply: Thank you! I really have a sneaking fondness for Old Man Willow.
