Eucatastrophe: The Return  by Dreamflower 118 Review(s)

Is it my imagination, or are chapters 14 & 15 the same?

Author Reply: Apparently it is not your imagination. I'm trying to recall if I had noticed that before, because no one else seemed to notice. I *think* I remember that the double posting was an accident, but because I had comments on both I did not delete one.

Hi Dreamflower
I've been reading this again but on the other site but had to come back to catch this missing chapter and the final one or two.
Just as great the umpteenth time around!

I just thought of another way the Witch King could die. The prophecy states 'by the hand of a man' not 'hands of a man'. A man could snap his neck with two hands. And who would challenge Wiki to hand-to-hand combat, anyway? He's far more likely to die by the sword of a man. If you take the prophecy extremely literally, then the only way he definitely couldn't be killed is by a single adult male human who attempts to kill him with just one hand. But then again I'm probably taking this way to literally.

Author Reply: LOLOLOL! It just goes to show that the W-k was very foolish in using that prophecy as a measure of his "invulnerability"! But of course, I think that was the point of the whole situation: his belief that no one could slay him when that was not at all what the prophecy said!

sorry to be a nit-pick BUT: PREVIOUSLY: Frodo, Merry and Pippin arrived in Bree, in the company of the Rangers, Mellor and Eradan. and seven or so paragraphes later mellor and eradan wanderninto camp for the first time....previously?

Author Reply: Ack! You are the first to notice that! It is a holdover from where it was posted at Marigold's Challenges--the chapters were divided up somewhat differently there, due to some length problems with the posting. I thought I had fixed most of those before I put the story here!

I shivered to think them spending the night in THAT room - I suppose the sheets and the bedding were removed and new, unstabbed ones put in their place......

Author Reply: Well, yes. I think Butterbur had the entire set of rooms completely redone after *that* episode! I figured staying there with no repercussions would be a good way to show how far Frodo and the others have come in their healing!

A very good beginning!

How wonderful for Merry and Frodo to be together on this day and cute that Merry had planned along to have Pippin sign as witness. Will have to look at that certificate when I have more time - looks lovely - a beautiful, loving gift to a beloved brother-in-heart.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you dear! I do think that Merry would have felt it just wouldn't be right not to have Pippin's name on there!

If it only could have been this way! Very glad indeed. But still he was there, in heart and I'm sure knew everything, even if he couldn't actually see it. Cute that he knows of his new nieces and nephews even before Rose does.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

A lovely quote and very fitting for our grace-filled one! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author Reply: And didn't Ithildin do a wonderful job?
