Lily, I like how you show Eowyn's strength and meekness combined into the powerful shieldmaiden she is. I like that she drove darkness away and brought in clean smells and fresh air, even if it could not totally drive away Death. Beautifully written. :) | |

Other than the fact that Eomer and Eowyn were the children of Theoden's sister rather than his wife's, this is just right, Lily Frost. Very, very beautiful, and the mood superbly described. And love the typical ending to a tale that has become part of a people's oral tradition. Very well done indeed. | |

Poor Éowyn. How alone she must have felt - Éomer exiled, Théoden a victim of Saruman's evil, Théodred dying - and Grima, always watching. Creepy! I like her lighting all the candles, and especially opening the windows to let the air in. That would probably feel more comforting for Théodred, too. Jay | |
