Oh this was a good laugh! I'm glad you mentioned frodo being rather accident prone. And the books! Haha!

LOL! This is a hilarious little story. Thanks for giving me a laugh today. I needed it.

I am an idiot. When the movies came out, all I saw was people squealing over Orlando/Viggo/Sean/Elijah and camping out like misplaced (and better dressed) Star Wars geeks. In the waves of oddly painted plastic toys and replica swords and little brass rings, I forgot about the Books. And I forgot that people loved the Books before anyone thought the movies could be made. I have been having so much fun these last few weeks, finding and surfing through site after site of really GOOD fanfiction. And this one made me laugh.

This is so funny, and a wonderful epilogue to a sweet story like "Some Nameless Place."

Well, I liked Some Nameless Place, but this is just hilarious! Thanks for sharing some good-natured fun!

Oh, this is priceless. Just fantastic! I am in stitches. So, so funny. That line about the pipeweed--"it doesn't smell like Old Toby to me!" nearly brought me to tears. Thank you.

Run Budgielover! Run! If the townsfolk find out you're with the Company, goodness what'll happen to you! What, you're still trying to get the Company together? Yes, I realize that collecting all of the Company into one traveling unit is a challenge for any author. But one as deft as yourself is certainly up to the task. Even if it is a difficult as herding cats. Now, hurry! I hear the townsfolk coming. And the sky is starting to turn slightly reddish in the distance. Loved the epilogue! :-) LKK

Heehee! This was priceless! You call it hearding cats, but I think it sounds just like trying to get my family out the door every morning! *Merry, where’s Pippin? I know he was here a minute ago. I’m asking where he is now. Oh. Well, I’m glad he remembered to do that before we left. Is everyone else ready? What is it, Frodo? “Yes, please take care of it now. There aren’t any facilities on the Road, remember. Does anyone else have to go? No? Good.* This part was especially good! :D Author Reply: Hi Iris! You know, this type of humor is so hard to write without being crude. I struggled over including that snippet - I'm glad the humor came through and no one was offended. And yet I wanted to include it, because it fit so well in the overall tone of the story. Talk about a departure from one's regular writing... :D!

Hah! Serves you right, Budgie! "Herding cats" indeed. "...Nor was it a reference to our beloved Ringbearer’s – um – ability to trip over every bush and fall down every crevasse … all right, maybe that was a bit catty. But you can hardly blame me for being annoyed. Be honest, Sam. Frodo’s either got his head in the clouds or his nose in a book or … well, I’m highly suspicious of some of that pipe-week you hobbits smoke." Hee hee Author Reply: What was a little intimidating about this snippet was that I could see it so clearly. It sprang almost full-blown as I made that "herding cats" remark to you. Stories shouldn't flow that easily! Next, they are going to start pounding down our doors!
