Lovely Pippin and Gimli moment! And I like seeing Gimli adjust his understanding of hobbits - he will be a good friend to them. With a shiny mail shirt!

Author Reply: Thank you, Bodkin! Yes, Gimli will be a very good friend to the hobbits, especially to Pippin. While writing this I had in mind his rescue of Pippin from beneath the troll. Gimli is a most excellent friend!

Should you get to know hobbits, my son, you will learn that there is more to them than meets the eye. Little do they realize how they endear themselves to the hearts of others.

Awww! That is so true!

Although, I'd say that Pippin knows very well about his "effect" on others and sometimes uses it to distract them from his latest mischief ;-)

But not this time, I'm sure.

Thank you very much!

Author Reply: Well, my Pippin is not mischievous now that he's nearing adulthood. He might have been as a child but I think he would have outgrown that, especially when Paladin became the Thain. And at the time of the Quest, I think Pippin would have been anxious to appear as mature as possible! Still he does manage to have an effect on others, as you say. I know he has an effect on me! ;)
Thanks very much for reading, Andrea. I'm very glad you enjoyed, and I always look forward to your comments!

AWWW! I like Pip and Gimli! The old dwarf isn't as gruff as he tries to make himself appear, is he? :D Pip'll do that to ya every time! LOL. I like how Gimli sees Pippin's strength and reads his character. Very good story. :)

Author Reply: I love stories about Pippin and Gimli! I think they had a very special friendship. I'm so glad you enjoyed. Thank you very much! :)

Definitely worth keeping an eye on! If you can that is. Hobbits are very good at disappearing - even without magic rings! *G* But it is good that Gimli is making friends so soon.

Author Reply: I think Gimli would have been feeling a little lonely, being the only dwarf left in Rivendell, and I think the hobbits would have went out of their way to make him welcome, especially since he is the son of Bilbo's old friend Gloin :)
Thanks for reading, harrowcat!
