You might as well as him not to be Pip LOL. Hobbits will be hobbits, Elves will be Elves, and Dwarves will be Dwarves. I'd bet the Wise probably figured that one out long ago :-) Very amusing. Author Reply: The Wise do speak in riddles, don't they?

It's an old chestnut, this tale, but transfering it to Beren and Luthien was a masterstroke. But the best is having to revive Bilbo afterwards, and his nonstop case of the giggles. How very Bilbo! Author Reply: A very old chestnut indeed, perhaps 1,000 years, I guess! It's always been one of my favorites. Thanks for reviewing.

Yes, inquiring minds do want to know, after all! Dear Pippin, asking the question, and the rest for listening! Heh! Author Reply: A question to perplex the Wise for all eternity!

Oh I do like this GA! But no wonder Bilbo needed reviving and can you just imagine Elrond or Aragorn hearing this version of the tale? Author Reply: This tale appears in a couple of my other stories, "The Sword of Elendil" (where Aragorn hears it), and "The Blue Book of Bilbo Baggins," where Faramir reads it. It's a takeoff on Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady, a tale in the Arthurian cycle (Welsh version). Chaucer used it in "The Canterbury Tales" as the Wife of Bath's Tale. G.A.

Well....it is a tiny step forward that each can recongnise that not every one is representative of the stereotype of the race! *g* Author Reply: Maybe....

Brilliant GA and very much in keeping with the object. I love that sword! Author Reply: "The Sword of Elendil," my tale of Aragorn's youth, just had to have such a beginning.... G.A.

Oh, how right this feels, GA. Very, very right for Tolkien's greatest sword. Author Reply: Pure gapfiller! Other stories are possible, but this one seemed right to me. Thanks for reviewing. G.A.
