| Just as I imagine the ring speaking to Aragorn. It's all there: the false promises of freeing Frodo of the burden, becoming king, loving Arwen, defeating Sauron, ... and enslaving the free people of Middle Earth to a master who would only become its next victim... But Aragorn did pass the test, well on his way to become Elessar. I love this little piece, thank you! (P.S. Linda I think you are a *wonderful* writer; I read Burden of Guilt and Web of Treason some weeks ago, it took me many breathtaking hours ( I stayed up most of the night and just kept going ...impossible to stop ) and it was a fantastic experience. I hope you keep writing... so that I can keep reading...!) | The Ring always betrays itself by offering just that little bit too much, more than the person It's tempting really wants... Aragorn wants his rightful inheritance--*not* to rule the world. | Interesting! Dunadan Uber Alles; there's a concept. Good thing Aragorn realized where the Ring was trying to lead him, and rejected Isildur's mistake. A Ring-bound Aragorn could be very, very dangerous. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I fear the Ring could turn anyone into a power crazed meglomaniac,especially if they were already powerful.Legolas said how terrible Aragorn would be if he took the Ring.
