Great story! I really enjoyed it. It was both funny and sad at the same time, which is hard to do.

This was a fantastic story. The fact that Glorfindel failed made it even better. Good job and thank you.

Fantastic story all around. I loved this. I felt so sorry for Glorfindel when he thought that he had failed the twins. Great job! (Okay, I admit it, I've read this many many times before, but I love this story so much I thought it deserved a bunch of chapter reviews!)

Ai! Who would have thought that the mighty balrog-slayer could be defeated by a mud puddle *and* a bird! Poor Glorfindel! What a true testament of his love for the twins to go through all of that. Very funny chapter.

It's difficult to mix humor and pathos successfully, but you do it so well in this chapter. Elrohir's agony over killing the 'pillar nearly brought me to tears. And then just when I thought I was going to totally lose my composure, you'd write something in just the right way to wrestle a smile or a chuckle out of me. For example, "His voice grew worried then, at the thought that his twin might suddenly wake up dead one day." I was also impressed with how you managed to capture children's speech so convincingly. "'I hurted it Ada, can you make it better?' Elrohir whispered." Lines like that just make me want to melt. (Now, excuse me while I fetch a mop to wipe me up off the floor.) Author Reply: *talks to puddle on the floor* Wow, you really know how to make my ego soar :) Seriously, I am so pleased you enjoyed it. That was my first attempt at any kind of humour, and I'm glad it blended well. Angst is always fun, but it can get so depressing after a while. I'm rather surprised that my elflings work so well, as I've never been around children long enough to observe them. I just went for cuteness, I think. Glad you enjoyed it enough to comment on! That was cute. I'd love to read a sequal to it. Author Reply: Thank you! I'm in the process of coming up with plot ideas (which do *not* involve the red caterpillars and spaghetti, as has been suggested by several readers on ff.net). Hopefully that will be out soon. Glad you liked, Cathy.
