Great story! I really enjoyed it. It was both funny and sad at the same time, which is hard to do.

It's difficult to mix humor and pathos successfully, but you do it so well in this chapter. Elrohir's agony over killing the 'pillar nearly brought me to tears. And then just when I thought I was going to totally lose my composure, you'd write something in just the right way to wrestle a smile or a chuckle out of me. For example, "His voice grew worried then, at the thought that his twin might suddenly wake up dead one day."

I was also impressed with how you managed to capture children's speech so convincingly. "'I hurted it Ada, can you make it better?' Elrohir whispered." Lines like that just make me want to melt. (Now, excuse me while I fetch a mop to wipe me up off the floor.)

Wow, you really know how to make my ego soar :)

Seriously, I am so pleased you enjoyed it. That was my first attempt at any kind of humour, and I'm glad it blended well. Angst is always fun, but it can get so depressing after a while.

I'm rather surprised that my elflings work so well, as I've never been around children long enough to observe them. I just went for cuteness, I think.

Glad you enjoyed it enough to comment on!
