Hobbit Drabbles  by Lady Bluejay 10 Review(s)
BodkinReviewed Chapter: 5 on 3/24/2007
Very nice hobbity drabbles! And I like to think of Sam there - at the end of all things - wondering just how they had been given the chance to make their attempt. It is delightful to have him register - in some way - that someone had drawn the eye away from them.

And, of course, excellent that he saw the Eagles coming.

Author Reply: Thanks, Bodkin,

I like to do these little things between stories.

Nice to think Sam saw rescue just before he passed out.LBJ

Oh, how marvelous that he should have that memory to bear with him as he lost consciousness himself. Gwaihir to the rescue!

Author Reply: Loved that bit -- but wondered if he realised help was on its way.LBJ

Yes! Oh, yes! I love to see Gandalf unveiled in that manner!

Author Reply: Yes, a great moment and a wonderful Gandalf.LBJ

That image in the film was so powerful! How well you caught it from Pippin's POV.

A wonderful moment from movie-verse. Poor Merry, not being certain what troubled his cousin.

Author Reply: I don't often do things from the movie but near our holiday cottage in Devon there is a land that reminds me of the one in the movie - that inspired me --and to do the Millipede one.LBJ

Poor little lass. Having been a terrible one to take to horror films when I was little I know just how she feels. Yet she lost the image of wonder to carry with her from that day on, she did. Gandalf's dragons are NOT to be missed, usually.

Author Reply: Yes, I bet she will regret it in later years.LBJ

The *Eagles* are coming!! Yay!

Author Reply: Thought they flew too slowly in the film! Should have swooped down. LBJ

Poor Pippin! That had to be his most horrible moment yet--to be convinced that Frodo and Sam had been taken.

Author Reply: It is surprising he was able to contain himself. Must have been awful. LBJ

Aww...poor little lass! I hope she got plenty of birthday cake to make up for her fright!

Author Reply: She would hardly be a hobbit lass if she didn't!LBJ

Ooooh, nice. I love seeing this through Pippin's eyes.

Author Reply: Yes, it must have been very hard for Pippin to remain still.LBJ
