The Blessing  by Pearl Took 12 Review(s)
cathleenReviewed Chapter: 7 on 6/19/2007
Pearl, I've only just reached this chapter and found it so touching and heartbreaking. Poor Pip! Talk about fate. Thank goodness that little girl showed up. I love the comparison between the broken doll and the way he was feeling about himself. I'm glad he got up the courage to go on after that interaction.
I know I've already said this but it bears repeating. This is truly the most touching tale of the Quest that I've ever read. You have really struck a chord in your readers' hearts. Thank you!
Cathleen

Author Reply: You are most welcome, Cathleen, and Thank You for such kind and generous words!

He really is a courageous young hobbit with a sunny heart. It is going to help him a lot.

Thank you so much!

Oh dear. Someone get Sam before he does himself any more damage - and gather the hobbits to support young Pippin.

Good thing Merry met Feva.

Good thing Frodo got Gandalf.

Good thing Parsow was there when Pippin lost it. And that Aragorn had turned up. The lad is going to need them all. Not appreciate their presence, perhaps, but need them.

Author Reply: Hi Bodkin!

You make a very good point in that last sentence.

Everything is out on the table now, all that's left is how to deal with it all.

Thank you :-)

This keeps getting better and better!

I love Parsow! He's a great OC. And as for Mallefinnros and Feva.... Hmmmm. It popped into my head that perhaps the speculation that the little girl might be an angel in disguise isn't far off... first thing I thought of when she reappeared was "She's a Maia!" *giggle*

Regardless, I'm very happy to see the new chapter and I look forward to the new ones that you and Golden are creating. Golden, this is a fantastic concept, and you could not have paired with a better author to bring your idea to life! :)

Author Reply: Hi Rhyselle, and thank you for your kind words :-)

Mallefinnros and Feva are unique, that's all I'll say ;-) And I'm so glad you like Parsow.

Thank you for reading and responding!

Things will improve (in some ways) soon, and his friends will be more helpful as well :-)

Thank you so much for reading and responding!

Oh dear! There I thought everything would be fine if Pippin only found a healer - and now that!

I really hope Aragorn knows what to do. There will be a lot of explaining for him to do, which will be really difficult, for him and for the hobbits.

So, the old English term is "falling sickness"? That's very interesting, because in German we have nearly the same word, which is called "Fallsucht". That's also an old term for epilepsy. Both terms describe the effects of that illness and maybe the fact that those observing such a fit, did not know what to make of it, or the perfect remedy. I hope Aragorn knows more!

Author Reply: Well, he was trained by Elrond :-) I'm thinking he will have something that might help :-)

He does have some explaining to do and I'm afraid he won't have totally good excuses.

Thank you, Andrea!

So extremely sad... for Pippin - who hopefully won't remember much of this, but for Merry.... my heart breaks for them all.

Author Reply: Hi Agape,

It will be rough, I fear, for all of them. Life is often like that. All will not be dark though.

Thank you for responding :-)

Hmmm...I'm wondering about that little girl... ;-) I'm not speculating yet, but an idea or two has crossed my mind. :-)

Well, everything has come to a head and will soon be out in the open. King Elessar had just better up and answer some heavy questions Pippin's family and friends will have. I'm looking forward to this inquisition, and to Pippin finally learning what he is up against. Poor lad!

Waiting for more...

Author Reply: Hi Pippinfan :-)

Are you now . . . You'll have to let me know elsewhere what you think ;-)

He'll have some explaining to do, I would think.

DreamflowerReviewed Chapter: 7 on 5/10/2007
Oh no! It's gotten worse. Poor Pippin!

Author Reply: Feart so.

Thank you for reading, Dreamflower :-)

:O Oh no!!! Poor Pip! :( The angst is top notch, now just bring us the COMFORT after the hurt and I'll be good to go!

::climbs into the story and holds Pippin so Aragorn can heal him quickly:: LOL :)

Author Reply: Well . . . we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Glad you're here, DW :-)

Falling sickness was how it was known for ages, after all. No problem with me, of course. Seizures can certainly be frightening, particularly if you aren't expecting them.

Author Reply: Thank you Larner :-) It is how it was known - I would think it horrifying.
