NO!!! Roast Pippin!!!

It was wonderful he worked out to use the machine and that it performed so beautifully as well :-)

On to the next . . . I'm worried about Pip!

OH MY GOSH!!! I think I *would* die of suspense if there wasn't another update ahead of me, lol!

Brilliant thinking of the hobbits -- and, of course, our two famous lads. :-)

Excellent chapter! On to more...

Oh mercy, Llinos! What a cliffhanger that was? What has happened to our beloved Pip?

This certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait until the next installment. Well done!

Author Reply: He fell through the floor. Those hobbits should know better than to build 2 storey buildings!

New chapter up now - thanks for reviewing.

I figured the machine was going to figure into the rescue, but using it to spray water hadn't occurred to me. Brave/smart Pippin in this chapter!

Author Reply: No I must admit I wouldn't have thought of that either. It's amazing sometimes how someone so daft can be so clever!

Thanks for reviewing - new chapter up now.

("It's a genuine steam vapour spindle activated vegetation dissection and lubrication apparatus! There should be a good pump and hosepipe on board.")I loved hearing the name of it again. Dwarves just know these things don't they?

Oh, and this was priceless! ("Pippin!" Merry's face lit up with excitement. "For once, you're actually right.)

Poor Sam. Folks are always making him get into things that he doesn't trust. Boats, Steam vapour spindle activated ect.

And I think Matt should be the new town fire chief and get to keep the steam vapour spindle activated vegetation dissection and lubrication apparatus thing.

(The dwarves, however, who had been attempting to form a wobbly dwarven pyramid to the upper floor, but were beaten back by the flames from the thatch,) I would have loved to have seen the Dwarven pyramid!

This is my favorite line this time and that is really saying something as there are so many grand ones to chose from. (Mentally closing his eyes, but for safety's sake actually keeping them wide open, Pippin made a mighty leap across the chasm that separated him from the womenfolk.) But that is just something that only Pippin could work out and do.

Now, I have to wait until tomorrow to see if Pip's all right? I don't know who I'll manage that! You are devilish with this cliffie!

Author Reply: Dwarves do know many things - and of course they devised this snappy name.

You think Matt doesn't have enough to do - what with smithing and talking to dwarves?

I've never seen a dwarven pyramid (except here) but it could be a winning act. At least it would have been if they weren't all drunk!

Don't you ever mentally close your eyes? I do it all the time, especially when I'm driving. But if you didn't notice then that's fine!

Whoops sorry, made you wait 2 days. Still it's there now. Thanks for reviewing.

You just love those cliff hanger endings don't you? *g*
But at least Pippin had an idea that Merry liked, using the engine for putting out the fire.

Author Reply: Well of course I do - don't you? *g* Besides I have to keep you coming back for more.

Thanks for reviewing - at least it wasn't too long a wait - new chapter up now.

For some reason I was under the impression that the machine had destroyed the Green Dragon or something, but I dont know why I thought that. It has been a tricky thing for everyone to reach those two hobbits. Again, I hope everyone comes out alright. Hope you don't mind if I review the story here, rather than fanfiction.net. Update soon!

Author Reply: Now that would have been a good trick.

I don't mind where you review the story - I appreciate all feedback, so thanks!

New chapter up.

I knew that machine could be useful! A watertank, a hose and a pump - that makes a fine fire engine!

But what a cliffhanger! Please update soon.

Author Reply: Well why didn't anyone else think of that? You see Pippin does get some good ideas!

Thanks for reviewing. Your fingers can take a rest - next chapter up.

Oh mercy! I'm away from a computer for a day and come back to *Two* exciting chapters! And suddenly this has turned from a rollicking comedy into a nail-biting adventure!

I love the way everyone sobers up and pulls together once the emergency is discovered--it's very wonderful to see how brave and resourceful hobbits are in a pinch--especially our Master and Thain!

And now I've got to wait to see how Pippin is rescued!

Author Reply: Ah well, that serves you right for deserting your computer - what were you thinking of?

They are doing quite well so far - what will befall our heroes now though?

Thanks for reviewing - the next (hopefully cuticle biting this time) chapter is up!

"No!" Pippin slipped his leg over his own pony and jumped down. "Think! We could use the Engine! It's not just for cutting grass – it's got a great big water tank and a hose!"

Brilliant! It's so wonderful that the dwarves are there to help, and to see the clever and brave hobbits at work. But... another cliffhanger! :O

Author Reply: Hobbits are brave and clever - but dwarves come in handy too.

Thanks for reviewing - next chapter imminent!
