The Great Hobbiton Race of 1435  by Llinos 8 Review(s)

Ah, now what for our intrepid Thain? And being stuck at Bag End wouldn't be TOO bad, not with Sam and Rosie's cooking at hand and the caring of all the Gamgee/Gardeners! Heh!

Oh, I'm so happy!! I get to enjoy this story for a long while yet! :-D

Now, I'm *really* curious to know what Pippin is seeing! I won't guess at it because I'm just not good at that sort of thing. :-P I loved the glimpse of Pippin and Diamond together, and thought Merry being just a tad sore at neither winning or losing was quite comical.

Absolutely brilliant, magnificently well written with just the right amount of detail.

Author Reply: So glad you liked this nonsense! Now I have to get back to the reality of Recaptured. Yikes! Thanks for reviewing so nicely - warms the cockles of this old scribbler's heart!

PS Oh and new (and last ((except for the epilogue)) chapter posted.

Ach!!

Extreme cliff hanger alert!

What could possibly be wrong now?

Well done and looking forward to whatever comes the hobbit's way.

Author Reply: Well, everything and nothing - but check it out.

Thanks for reviewing. I can now cross this one off my list and get back to Recaptured (oh and real life as well!) Maybe even a KM and KP adventure - they've been nagging!

You are evil beyond words! How can you take what seems to be a calm-after-many- storms sort of chapter and turn THAT into a cliff-hanger? How? I know you are always supposed to leave your readers wanting more but really! LOL

Has Pippin relapsed? Has something happened to Merry? Is something else on fire? Now I have to sit here and wonder exactly what you are up to now. The Thain isn't the only mischief maker around here.

On another note, I love the way Pippin is indirectly responsible for the fire on top of everything else. And the way Sam rushed in quickly to keep Merry for listing too many of Pippin's faults was very diplomatic indeed. Brilliant all the way to the end.

Author Reply: Oh I'm not up to much. My evil trend is mostly due to KM's influence. But no more cliffs, we just jumped over the last one. Ta muchly for reviewing, I'm glad it's finally finished, except now I have to finish Recaptured - groan.

He even tolerated Merry coming to read to him now and again from the new book he was writing on herb lore, which was a good indication to everyone (except perhaps Merry) that the Thain was decidedly under the weather.

Oh dear! I found those excerpts of Merry's herb lore in "The Lord of the Rings" very entertaining! But I'm no hobbit...

I also found shirebound's review very fitting. And so I would like to ask with her: What????

I'm looking forward to reading more.

Author Reply: I'm sure Merry's books were entertaining, but that was only after they had been through the hands of a very strict editor.

More is here - then there is no more. Sorry, but thanks so much for reviewing.

I've always liked Hobbits. I like how the others are showing so much care to Pip.
Wow, I have got to know what happens. Update soon!

Author Reply: Update as requested! Thanks for reviewing - always much appreciated.

Somehow, I'm thinking of that engine again. ;o) I like the way you resolved the race. And I hope Frodo-lad got a treat for his labors. Can't wait to read more!

Author Reply: Oh Frodo just does it for the laughs! That and he minds his Dad.

More ready - thanks for reviewing.

What? What what what?? *paces impatiently*

Author Reply: Sit down. No need to fret. Two new chapters added (the end and the epilogue)

Thanks for reviewing!
