So much to contemplate, and how heartening that one communication granted.... I, too, am glad to replace the accidently removed comment. Elrond was the one who lived as an eldar who ever dealt with and developed relationships with those fated to die and pass beyond the bounds of Arda, and it must have been a joy to him when reaching the Undying Lands to finally perhaps have a meeting with his father during the daylight hours and to know again his mother as well. Author Reply: I've always thought Elrond has a fascinating history, and when I got to considering him I realized how many loved ones he had lost. I also like the idea of him having another chance to see his parents and wife and find some peace at last. I greatly appreciate your comments.

I'm happy to review again. I like the thought that Bilbo's poetry had such an effect on Elrond. This is truly beautiful... When he had sailed and his children looked up at the stars and thought on him, what would they remember? He bowed his head and his mind's eye beheld a vision of flame and shadow. The flame burned away the shadow and beyond he beheld a city of purest white. Arwen stood beside Aragorn, the Evenstar upon her brow, burning with the light of a Silmaril, a smile of joy upon her lips as the laughter of children rang in the background. Elrond is a character of great courage and conviction, and at last he has Hope, as well. Author Reply: I don't think I ever wrote to thank you for reposting your review. You are very kind. :-) I didn't realize until I started writing this piece how much loss Elrond had suffered in his long life. It's nice to think he will finally be able to be reunited with loved ones lost long ago. I appreciate your comments. Thanks so much.
