Wonderful!! What are a few birthdays indeed! Some of us pass many birthdays and never "grow up". It was one of the things I had loved in the books and was so glad they showed it in the movies - how grandfatherly Gandalf is with Pippin. This is a wonderful, wonderful story, Llinos :-)

And BLESS the old wizard for his wisdom indeed! The greatest Magick comes from believing in ourselves and one another, after all! Wonderful tale.

*That* was a most excellent story! One can never go wrong with a Gandalf and Pippin story. :-) I do love the old wizard's affecionate ways with the young hobbit. And Pippin...that lad has more courage in his little pinky finger than some Men (and women!) have in their entire body. Pippin just needed a little ear of wheat to believe it, and then had lose the talisman in order to convince himself that he had had courage all along. A Brilliant tale, indeed!

Trust Gandalf to save the day, and love the "Keep it secret and keep it safe!" warning. Lovely morning for our lads.

The entire scene between Merry and Pippin always brings tears to my eyes. It's so sweet, so delightful to watch the young hobbits and the fauntling at play. Then to watch little Pippin's heart swell with determination to overcome his fear is just...magick. :-)
