Two Fathers, One Son  by Calenlass 3 Review(s)

I always find your poems so spot on, Calenlass! You address the emotions so well and in such a...I don't know...sincere, perhaps, way that each part of the poem perfectly balances the other. This one in particular was especially moving, as a loving son speaks to the two fathers who are no longer there, although certainly never less loved or forgotten. I can certainly relate - I miss my dad so much on this day, as well as my children miss their father (my husband)...a double loss made bittersweet on a day like this. Your poem addresses that sense of loss beautifully! Well done, and thank you!

Author Reply: It made perfect sense, Linda. :) My reviews tend to be less-than-coherent at times. *grin*

My father was away this Father's Day, and I wished he could've been here. But since he was not, I decided to write a poem that would express the relationship between my father and me. That's what I based all my Estel stories on--little snippets from my childhood, words and saying that my father used. I don't know what I would think if I lost him--for me, it's still too soon.

Your words were greatly appreciated.

Oh, I can see both of these.

"Who painted the sky?" Yes, the question of an intelligent child. I can so see this.

Author Reply: Thanks for your comment, Larner. :)
