It's been a long, long, loooooong time since I've read anything here-other interests have carried me away from Middle Earth-and much longer since I left a review, but I had to tell you that your story made me cry. That's not entirely a bad thing, though:-)Good job! Author Reply: I know the feeling of being carried away by reality. It's rare that I find my way back to Middle-earth. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review.

What a loving, beautiful story. I felt sad for Elessar, but I was happy for Pippin when he was reunited with Frodo, and then with his father. Lovely. Author Reply: Thanks a lot. It just made sense to me that Frodo would wait for his friends on the other side.

How nice for Pippin to have the reunion with one beloved cousin while on the way to reunion with another. Love the ending too - Aragorn's love for Pippin is well done. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thanks a lot, Antane!

"Is this the end?" he asked quietly. Frodo shook his head and placed a hand on his shoulder as Pippin turned to him with a frown. "This is a new beginning. Do not be afraid." That was beautifully written, Lily! I loved the idea that Frodo was the first one to greet Pippin, to assure him that he was well and that they would be united soon. Your grandfather must have been a wonderful person that he inspired such a brilliant story! May he rest in peace! Author Reply: Thank you, dear. My grandfather didn't really inspire this story. The idea, and a few lines of dialogue have been on my mind for the best part of 3 years, but it was only now that I found the right mood to put it together. Nevertheless, my grandfather was a wonderful person - a stronghold full of sunshine and smiles.

I read this after you posted the lj link at TookTalk, and I got tears in my eyes. It was sad, but so beautiful. I found it very interesting that it was Pippin's father beckoning home. Usually, in these types of stories Merry is the one to be there for Pippin. I really liked your idea. Very creative and very cool. You also nicely messed book images with movie images in a way that was totally true to the book. Great job. Sorry for your recent loss. Author Reply: It never occured to me to have Merry greet him. I knew it had to be Frodo - a reassurance for Pippin that his cousin waswell. And Paladin... well, as I write him he and Pippin both have the Tookish Sight and I think that it was perhaps that connection that made Paladin be there in time to pick Pippin up, though I do not doubt that Merry, probably along with Diamond, will be the next person to welcome Pippin. Thank you for reading!

So, you have Frodo remaining in Tol Eressea beyond his cousins' stay in Gondor. Am so glad he is allowed to greet Pippin as he passes westward, and that Pippin has such tender memories, and that he feels also greeted by his father as he passes on in search of Merry. Yes, bittersweet indeed, and I needed my own box of tissues this time. Lovely memorial to your grandfather. Author Reply: as he passes on in search of Merry. And I'm sure Merry is the one Pippin meets next. I think it must have been a big comfort for him, though, to meet Frodo again and see that he, too, had a happy life. We seem to have an enormous waste of tissues, don't we? Thank you for reading.
