| Poor Boromir, he had so much sitting on those broad shoulders. Well Done! Author Reply: What I find heart-rending for Boromir is the fact that the burden began the day he was born. As he grew older, the burden weighed more and more heavily. To me, in the drawing, he is about twelve and yet, already a man because of what was expected of him.... But Faramir was there to play with now and again and remind him that life was good. And, thankfully, the dear Hobbits helped on the quest, at least for a time! | |

| A warm love between the two brothers, one that remains with them ever, even when parted. Author Reply: Ah! When I see a picture like this, it breaks my heart. Knowing that Tolkien envisioned an afterlife for Men makes it a little easier to bear the separation for these two. | |

| This is a wonderful picture of a big brother that really knows how much his little brother loves and worships him. I wish that more big brothers had the same sensitivity. Author Reply: Thanks Neilia, and I hear what you are saying. The little quote about the brothers' relationship in Tolkien's appendix absolutely is gorgeous. I think Kasiopea's picture really tells it well. I'm glad my little drabble could further your understanding of that relationship! Thanks!!!! | |
