A lovely look at postWar Ithilien, getting green and prosperous thanks at least in part to Legolas. He has indeed left a fair legacy for the Secondborn.

Wonderful, haunting last line, too.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. The last line came to me first.I'm pleased you liked it.Ilove to hear gulls crying overhead.

What a great way to mark Leggy's legacy - I believe Tolkien said, either in ROTK or elsewhere, that Ithilien became the fairest of mortal lands in the Fourth Age.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.I find Legolas hard to write so I'm relieved it worked.

Happy New Year !

Aragorn won't be here when Legolas leaves, but Elboron and his children will make certain others know. And the legacy will live on!

Author Reply: Many thanks for commenting. I'm sure Elboron and his descendants will guard the legacy well.
