| Oh, dear me, what a twist at the end! Poor Merry - not only he has lost his beloved brother-cousin, he's the Ring-bearer. I'd be wiping away tears too. Interesting he found comfort in grasping the Ring. Though I cringe to think of what it would do to him, you really should continue this! And write a prequel too - what happened to Frodo?! Is a wraith following them or what? Do I even want to know? Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Hi, Antane! I'm glad you enjoyed my story. What I had in mind when I wrote the story is that Elrond removed the shard in time for Frodo to not turn into a wraith, but Frodo still died due to his injuries. A prequel, and a sequel, are interesting ideas! Maybe I'll do something about that ... | |

| Aha--your own might-have-been, and all too likely a one at that. Frodo dead, and Merry now the Ringbearer. And now word of whether or not Sam has continued on. I'm only glad the shard didn't manage to take Frodo before the end. Merry and Pippin perhaps will be the ones to follow the path to the end in this one, then? Author Reply: Hi, Larner!
