Author Reply: Here's another late reply. *bops self on the head*

Thank you, that was lovely! I am very fond of Eowyn, and I can't stand it when people write her as a shrew, insanely jealous of Arwen, or just plain stupid. Which they do far too often.

Author Reply: It is a sad fact that people take a character's portrayal in movies/books and exaggerate it. That's why we have so many tomboy!Eowyns, perfect!Aragorns, bruised!beaten!pushover!Faramirs, and barbaric!Eomers. It's very sad, really.

Thanks for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed my story. :D

I suspect Eowyn might well have been right, had the ring come to her then.

I'd never thought of the basined lake having been hidden for a time, although that is possible. But it would have been a welcome secret among the Rangers of Ithilien, I'm certain.

A fitting preparation for the morrow.

Author Reply: After reading those few chapters concerning the Sam, Frodo, and Gollum in Ithilien, the basin struck my curiosity. Why was it there? Who created it?

Thank you for your review! :D

Oh, but Faramir,” she said with a sudden sweet seriousness, “I do love you, and even were you Prince of a dark abandoned hole and lord of brigands, still I would go and live with you happily, and think only sometimes of the plains of Rohan, and never longingly.” And to emphasize her point, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The rest of the story is lovely too; but that bit really made me melt. I've always thought that Eowyn would have been very happy in Gondor with Faramir, both in Minas Tirith and Ithilien.

And I love Eowyn's understanding of Faramir's concern that she might regret leaving Rohan, the connection to poor Finduilas...

Author Reply: I love stories that make me squee, and I'm glad this one made YOU squee. Romantic!Faramir and Fluffy!Eowyn make me happy. :)

I've always thought Eowyn would be happy in Gondor as well -- sometimes, I DO compare her with Finduilas. How these two brides must have been so alike and yet so unlike each other.

Thanks for your review!

What a beautiful, romantic, exquisitely written story. And I've never once considered what Eowyn's reaction would have been, had she the same chance as Faramir to reject -- or take -- the Ring.

Author Reply: It has always frustrated me that Faramir was never considered as important, somehow, as Aragorn, or Eomer, or perhaps even Imrahil. He played a key role in the downfall of Sauron, but they just never seem to emphasize that, whether in book or in movie. I suppose I manifested my frustration in Eowyn, who I think would feel the same way. After all, rejecting the Ring is a HUGE thing.

Thanks for your review!
